Depends on the size of the wood you are starting with, and what model of knife you are going to scale. If just doing a fairly simple g10 replacement (full metal liners), and using small, pre-cut knife scale blanks from one of the standard suppliers, I'd say a dremel, sanding paper, a good drill and ...

i don't know of any easy frn replacement jobs. replacing the frn is a lot of delicate work with a flat router dremel bit for sure on all models i have opened up, but it can be done. i am plannng on doing a tasman that way soon assuming I find what I expect to inside. would have started but the yello...
