I've had a blue, drop point, BD1 UKPK for about four months. I carry it every day in my back pocket. I like the wire clip as it rides low and looks like a pen. I also carry a PM2 should the need arise but my UKPK is my go to knife to open boxes and envelopes, cut off tags, string, zip ties and what ...

Wood isn't really that abrasive on edges so that video means nothing really, that's an old video.....

Good edge holding compared to what? ;) Something like AUS 6 or 440A..... ;)

Doing what?

That is the question one should be asking and prepare to start laughing once they give their answer ...

1095 was OK back when there wasn't really many other options (Not really a lot of choices worth using outside of Customs), like back in the 70's, but now...... Well...... In folders and small fixed blades we have a lot of other options both stainless and non stainless to limit ourselves to ...

I'm no expert but you could force a patina on it that would create a layer of protective oxidation on the blade. I did this with my carbon Mora. I alternated applications of dabbed mustard and potato juice and created an interesting pattern. However, this will affect the cutting edge but you could ...

Time Out Please!!!

Before we get too haughty looking down out noses at grammatical mistakes and spelling. This forum is hosted in the USA but posters are from all over the world. For some of them (US) English is a foreign language.

I also want you to know several posts and their resulting ...

I highly doubt it and echo the responses of the folks above. Reputable dealers don't stay reputable long by selling factory seconds as new stock. :(

I don't disagree. I'll post pics tonight and see what the forum thinks, but if it is in fact a second, I'm wondering if somebody bought a second ...

I can relate. I picked up my first Spyderco knife earlier this year, a Para 2, it's fantastic, and now I have twelve Spyderco knives. Actually I don't 'have' them all. Some are on the way. My latest acquisition is the ambitious, persistence and tenacious all in blue.

I can try to post some pics tonight.

I've contacted the dealer. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and want to know what they think.

Can anyone confirm that there were seconds of the blue stretch sold?

Do I have a factory second?

I bought a blue stretch a while back which has now been discontinued. I got it from a reputable dealer at a reasonable price.

When I got it I noticed that on the very back of the spine just below the jimping there was what appeared to be a grind mark on the right side as you're looking down at the ...

I'm new to the forum and just found this thread. Have they done this before and is there any limit to who is eligible to get one of these?
