Much better in my opinion, but overall is just an awesome knife.

Re: MT21P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with CPM 4V

No hurry Jim. I had forgotten about it. I was going through looking for something and I saw the box it was in and figured you might have it. Keep it until you get to use it until it breaks which shouldn't be that long at rc 64-+ :) I had the water jet company make up some blanks in 1/8th steel one ...

Re: MT21P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with CPM 4V

4V is an interesting steel from what I have seen out of it so far. :) I think most will like it. It's NOT stainless though so people will need to really pay attention to properly taking care of rust prevention. We talking more like CRUWEAR, M4, or Super Blue in terms resistance and type of staining?

Yes and add the Squeak if you want smaller. The ergos are better IMO, and you don't need a lock on a knife that small.

I stop at the brown rods now. Don't even touch the fines and haven't used the uf's since I first got them

True, but I don't own a single BM and don't want a BM clip on my Spydie. Nothing against BM, I'd rather give Casey my business. Plus, I'll get a shorty and really like having the clip short and out of the way.

Re: Deep-Pocket Carry Clip for Delica-4

I echo giving Casey your business. I've been ordering from him since he began. In that time there have been knockoffs on eBay that I avoid. Casey's only issue at times is being sold out of certain styles. He works his butt off and takes care of his customers. I wrecked a bike and messed one up prett...

I would grab one for sure! I don't own a Balance, and while they intrigue me, the small size has kept me from buying one.

Re: Big Chris Regrind?

He did my Southard all the way to the spine. From Chris: "Reground to just under .010" behind the edge and thinned the spine from .155" to .115" while maintaining the distal taper." I am very happy with it. He did Ankerson's S110V down to .005 and it performed very well. htt...

Re: My Complete Collection - One a Day

Love the Phoenix, I hope to come across one. Tonight was the first time I have opened this thread (haven't been on the forums much lately), and enjoyed quickly reading some posts on the ones that really caught my eye. I noticed you mentioned not carrying because of shiny clips, or not liking a clip....

Nothing wrong with Glock. Another thing the first batch with solid liners had going was that they were ran harder and better performers. Don't know if there is any real validity to that though.

Re: how to sharpen Super Blue?

I am fairly experienced sharpening and use an Edge Pro to re-profile. I use my Sharp Maker to touch up after I re-profile. SB has proven to be especially difficult to re-profile and get stupid sharp. Touching up is no problem with SB, but I haven't had this much frustration with a steel since early ...

Re: 2015 Forum Knife Blade Length - Updated Poll, Simplified

I voted in the majority, but really could go for a CPM 4V Military. Or K390, S110V, or 10V Mili. Don't care about color much but keep it G10.

Re: Thoughts on Ankerson's cut testing results

And thanks to you I'll likely end up with a Southfork (I convinced a friend to buy one a while ago). The Seratta was higher on my list because I see it as being a better camping/survival oriented knife, but the Southfork would definitely be better in the kitchen, and it's moving it's way up my list...

Re: Thoughts on Ankerson's cut testing results

CRUWEAR is that steel for me (in the Mili anyway). It doesn't go for ever, but it holds a fine edge longer than a lot, and has never had any rolling or shiny spots. I have personally had multiple edge stability issues with S30V in multiple knives. It is one of my least favorite steels actually. Coul...

Re: Thoughts on Ankerson's cut testing results

How long would those edges have lasted while push cutting versus another type of steel? I'm honestly curious Are you talking about trying to cut steel with a knife? The edge would be destroyed almost immediately would be my guess. There are obviously steels that cut other metals, but the geometry o...

Re: Thoughts on Ankerson's cut testing results

Out of curiosity, how does cutting cardboard or rope differ from CATRA results? Wouldn't real life feedback consist of sloppy cutting, environmental differences, or whatever other variables that cannot be adequately measured by CATRA? Please forgive my ignorance if I can't see a difference between ...
