What's that? New spyderhole is hatching? ;) Is it some kind of corrosion pitting? Does anybody have similar issues with S30V? I've had similar pitting, but not as deep, on my S30V Paramilitary. Except it wasn't in one spot, but in 3 spots throughout the blade. But all on the same side of the blade....

Personally I love the "fluffy bunny carrot peeler" approach... :) I mean a Harpy blade in a nice pink G-10 scale and maybe a multicolored fluffy bunny on it, or cartoonish bunny face and a carrot on it. With something like that I really can't picture a LEO or anyone else for that matter ca...

About shipping it back: The customs guy that took my knife refused to say which mail carrier could be used to ship the knife back, he only said it has to be a "bonded Canada customs carrier". So you'd have to make arrangements with that carrier, arrange for them to pick it up, call up cust...

Nicky, I feel your pain. Believe me, getting the guy on the phone will not nbe easy. I took maybe half a dozen tries this summer, and couldn't get him on the phone. Then I took two days off work when I got a summer cold and called the guy maybe twenty times on the first day until he finally picked u...

Yep. They took my Chinook II in June for the same reason. The funny thing is, Canadian law doesn't really say that it is illegal. Section 84(1) paragraph (a) just says that "opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to" yadda yadda. So it seems to me a...

Yep, what they said ^^^ Seriously now, most of my Spyderco collection (20+ knives) were shipped from the USA. There shouldn't be a problem. However the point about UPS vs. USPS is very important. With the customs fees that foll...

Allen, thanks for the offer! But the prices are back up already, I seeing that I already have an SS Endura I'll live without a VG-10 one for a bit longer. And I always have a VG-10 Delica rattling around in my bag every day, ju...

Nice... Unfortunately, being an international customer (Canada), I'd have to pay the US$28.70 USPS shipping charge. Now, for a US$32.83 knife it doesn't make much sense to me. But within USA, oh boy! It really is a great deal o...

Yeap, when not paying for stuff from EBay I don't usually let them know what it is I am buying. As for the ATR and Sebenza business, I'll get both eventually. The Sebenza deal actually popped up a day after I posted on the Wanted to Buy forums, so it'll be the first, and ATR will wait another couple...

Speaking of ATRs, anybody know of a reasonably-priced seller that has them actually in stock? I've been looking to buy one for a couple of days now, but so far they're either US$200+ or not in plain edge, which is what I want. Edited: If the seller accepts PayPal too, that would be great. I looked a...

Happy B-Day! And I second that idea of one Spydie per year on your B-Day cake instead of candles... Just don't light them up.

Just an update... Carried this thing for quite a while now, quite impressive. Been thinking about putting in some exotic hardwood between the metal scales to make it feel more solid around the handle hole, but otherwise it's a really neat cutter. Even made a sheath for it so that it wouldn't get as ...

My first sighting that I remember was one of the bad guys in "Hard Target" (yeah, I know, Van Damme movie, bah!) Anywho, it was a PE SS Police, I think. But I never seen a one-handed opener before, and when the bad guy kneels over the dead body and does a slow one-handed opening I was like...

I tried it yesterday, and there was nothing there except a small notice that said that on March 20th there will be an upgrade of vb-something, and that meanwhile I should go for a walk, make me a sandwich, and go watch The Dawn of the Dead". I can't remember the rest of the sujjestions there, a...

Working on two holsters now, actually. One is a pretty straightforward affair, but the other one will be an attempt at a quickdraw wave-like opening. Except that the hole isn't chamfered, and it'll rip up the leather real quick unless I do something about it... Still making the prototype at this poi...

Funky Karambit (many many pics)

Posted this at Bladeforums too, but since it is a new Spydie, I thought I'll post here too. I did a photoshoot of my Karambit and discovered something funny. My blade is missing the "Spyderco VG-10" thingy as it shows in the 2004 catalogue. If I slowly open the blade I can see a "Sp&q...

Gosh, it's tempting... But $99... It's not really an all-purpose blade, and it's not like I'm going to be using that blade for utility at work. Delica and Ladybug make people nearly jump out of the windows each time I take them out, can only imagine what will happen if I twirl a kerambit with a pens...
