Thread size and pitch for CS Recon 1 scale T-6 screws?
Can anyone provide me the thread size and pitch for the T-6 scale screws? I need to drill and tap a custom backspace. This is the full sized 5.5" clip point blade.

Re: Manix 2 XL - Ball Lock Too Stiff - Hints?
I changed out the stock spring for three lighter springs that I rolled together. I can open and close the Manix with out touching the blade.

Re: Manix 2 XL - Ball Lock Too Stiff - Hints?
Five years ago I removed the single heavy spring on my 2 XL and replaced it with three lighter springs wound together as one plus went with a ceramic ball replacement. I did some spine whacking and put it in a vise to check to see if the lock would slip and fail, but it held fast and has not failed ...

Re: Clean olive oil off karahawk
Olive oil is easily dissolved by organic solvents. Soap and water don't really work too well unless the water is very hot to speed up the hydrophobic soap/oil reaction. Soap strips off the oil layers by bonding with the fats and going down the drain rather than dissolving them. Organic solvents inc...

Re: Military Review video I made
Vivi,
I've re-watched the video, (yet again) and I see near the end at 13:02, your onscreen text states you thinned the edge using DMT benchstones then finished with a micro bevel on a Sharpmaker at 15 degrees per side.
What was the angle you used for thinning with the DMT diamond stones?

Easier to use a belt and a real (certified for climbing) key ring carabiner. Place belt through the carbiner. Clip the carabiner over the zip line. Wrap the belt ends around your hands and go.

Vivi,
Loved that video! Since CPM D2 is now in unicorn status, what steels do you think are comparable using the 15 degree regrind you mentioned?

Re: Can't decide which mod to do
I left the jimping alone and did not round out the transition area on this Manix 2XL reprofile. Some did not like the sharp transition but I think it gives it meaner and leaner (as well as unique) look: http://i66.tinypic.com/mal6dg.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/rcka48.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/2hovh...

$32.50 - but I had to machine a spacer since they sent me a size small (12 mm instead of 14 mm)

Re: 10 years of Millie goodness
The Military was my EDC until the Manix 2XL came along. Love to see a Millie with a Compression lock, Manix style ball bearing lock or even standard back lock. Making a frame lock was a good step, but it would be nice to see some new lock options.

C54 Calypso plain edge with black micarta is my dress knife. A super light knife with a classy Black Tie look, clean lines and a low profile. Very thin too. Sits well in a suit pocket even with the clip. The only exposed fasteners are on the clip.

Re: Stretched Manix 2 LW Mod
Since I did the spine regrind, I use that Manix 2XL as my EDC. It replaced a PE Military model. Since I'm left handed, the lock on the Manix allows left-handed use, plus with the other lock mods I did to it, it now operates as a gravity blade with one hand- both open and closing. Just have to be ca...
