I got my father and I some Spyderco Dragonfly 2's in orange.
We are both still trying to learn to easily and reliably open them (since they are so small), but once they are open it really is a "little big knife".
Thanks Sal & company, for the awesome knives! :)

The position of the lockbar is vastly less important than whether or not the lock is solid and reliable. I mean, if the knife is functioning perfectly, I would not search for something to worry about. I would not worry about flicking causing noticeable damage or accelerated wear on liner/frame/compr...

I have tried Mobil 1 75w synthetic gear oil, RemOil, white lithium grease, and Finish Line Extreme Fluoro grease (DuPont Krytox). I totally break-down the knife and thoroughly clean it with dish soap and alcohol between tests. The Extreme Fluoro had the best static friction, by far. All of the lubri...

Just so I totally understand, does my new/as yet delivered, Manix 2 have the same bushing system as my para 2 ? Thanks. So Spyderco hand selected some runners up? Like I said what's the point of making a calendar just to give them all away for free? I noticed the 4 people saying they got free ones but also noticed the rest of us who outnumber them who didn't. If it were a clerical error I would think the majority wo...

I really don't think they were handing out free calendars just for submissions...think about that for a second. Everyone who even remotely wanted a calendar could just submit any old random knife pic and get it for free. What would be the point of them trying to sell a calendar if they just gave it...

I would give it more time and effort. I know when I like a knife, I will do whatever I can to make the knife function properly. You will only need to deal with Customer Service for a short time, but you will have the knife for many years. Your last post is a sad one, but I understand it. Keep us upd...

Can anyone give an example of a task that only a plain/fine/unserrated edge does well? Would it be game meat butchering? Are there tasks where a serrated/Spyderedge or combo edge would be a liability/downside? Either is better than neither. ;) I like combo-edge because the serrations work easier an...

Next time, instead of accusing people you respect of doing something improper, why don't you ask politely? You can get people on your side much quicker if you don't insult the most important figure on this forum. I saw your latest post where you apologized because there were examples of your idea, f...

I completely disassemble, clean, and lubricate all of my knives (except my Microtech LCC D/A) at least once, and more likely twice, when I first get them. After the those initial cleanings, if it's a lockback/slipjoint, I will occasionally clean the lock-tang area, otherwise my folders are left alone.
