Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what is the blade width on the prototype?

I'm a big fan of shaving with an extra hollow 4/8. But I don't mind a wider blade, especially if it's damasteel!

Re: Straight Razor from Spyderco

I've been shaving with vintage straights for about 8 years now. Sharpened on the 3×8 UF stone and stropped on leather before I shave. I am really looking forward to this. Given the number of steels that seem to be on the possible options list, I would LOVE if this turned into a kamisori mule project...

Manix2, cpm cru-wear, CF scales

This just appeared as an exclusive, and is currently in-stock at one of the regular online shops.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say which one, but if this interests you (and if you're not still hurting from xmas) time to go have a look... :)

Sharing the love,
Y

Re: The Spyderco Senior think tank

I use the junior as a folding chefs knife. It's a little small, but it's the most comfortable to use on a chopping board as my knuckles are out of the way, and I can rock it for herbs. If it had a larger blade and handle and if the guard didn't block the heel of the blade from use, I'd definitely be...

Thanks guys. hey Spyderedgeforever, I wouldn't consider us to have a traditional knife. Singapore is too new and too mixed. our country is something like 85% Chinese, 10% native Malay, and then small mix of Indians, Eurasians and others. All these are groups are considered local and have been here a...

Regarding Singapore carry laws, what cop friends explained to me is that it's very much based on intent or perceived intent. If you're in public holding a knife and a watermelon, you're probably ok. If you're in the same place with the same knife but facing a guy that's holding a broken beer bottle,...

I've already made my suggestion to get mules into the hands of those that want to use it. My thoughts are that prepaying a long time in advance and having a longer open window for confirming the purchase will help this. if we had between March and June to pay $100 deposit for a k294 or 4V that would...

Interesting analysis of the market situation related to mules. However, product strategy needs to take into account cannibalization of other product lines. Especially the profitable ones. If sal did everything we wanted, selling knives with great steel at cost, how would Spyderco continue as a busin...

Customs in Singapore is ok with locking knives and fixed blades. Butterfly/balisong, automatics and anything that's got 2 sharpened edges are illegal. Of course it's tough to tell from an xray so sometimes the package will get held up and you've got to collect it personally from ICA at Singpost cent...

Mine came with the mule/swick order. I'm thinking that frenzy would account for a lot of the catalogues and the slower-than-normal response time.

Hi glbpro, thanks for the suggestion. i'm familiar with sheares. And black tactical in funan. mostly I buy from CS or KC, even with shipping added in, I still save. I try not to go in to fondle their knives though. I really do want to, but I know i'm not buying there, and i'm sure they know that too...

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome :) They're not so easy to find here. I've accepted that I'm not going to get to handle before I buy. IF I could find a model I was after, I'd still be paying above msrp. I buy online and get them shipped. It can be expensive to Singapore, depending on the retailer. B...

Hi, I'm not new here...

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for years and I thought it's about time I properly introduced myself. My name is WaiChung and I'm from Singapore. I've been into Spyderco knives since the first one that I got in 1992. It's an all stainless, aus6 with an integral clip. I got on this forum to figure out...

I'm not sure if this much trouble and effort are required for a non-profit program for afis. Flippers are annoying but the main issue is just getting knives into the hands of those who want it, right? With that in mind, and given the roll-out is typically more than a year or 2, pre-registration and ...

Hi Marianne, I've tried a couple times to ask for a shipping quote to Singapore via the website but haven't received a reply. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if you're just backlogged. Is there any other way to contact Halpern titanium to confirm this?

Hi shakyamuni,
This thread is awesome. Exactly the kind of info I needed. And thanks to everyone that contributing too.

Does anyone happen to have the measurements for the balance and the balance CF?
