Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Charlynn will send a call tag to you for your knife. Please give her your address.

sal

OP, if this doesn't win your allegiance to Spyderco I don't know what will!

Agreed. :)

I had already made arrangements to return the knife to BHQ and they would replace it with another when the next ...

Thank you, Sal. I'm sure you have better things to do than address my concerns. It's this exceptional level of interaction upon which I had based my high estimation of Spyderco as a company. My faith is ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Hi bitbyte,
We apologize for your disappointment and have provided an option to make this right. I understand your choice to stand firm on principle while continuing to post your frustration in hopes of forcing a change in our decision. It would be truly great if we could take everyone at their ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Hmm, being principled in this case will get you no knife and apparently some hard feelings.

Allowing that a company might not send a call tag for a knife that they didn't sell directly to you (maybe direct to BHQ from Spyderco, possibly through distribution), could potentially get you a warranty ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

So you have options and information and you're still not availing yourself of either one, and spreading negative information about Spyderco to others. This is why Yelp can be so useless; people are more likely to review something if they have a negative experience, and the customer isn't always ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Well, that settles it for me. I'm no longer buying any Spyderco knives because one guy wasn't happy with his knife.

Dude, if you lived by this mentality, you would live in the middle of a field in a hut built out of grass and mud, because there is nothing on this planet that is universally ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

They have to evaluate whether it's a qc issue or a user issue. They can't just trust you at your word. They aren't Amazon. It's really not something to get worked up over. If it really is a qc issue you will get a brand new non defective knife. It's not something to abandon a brand you have been ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

I was talking to 2 coworkers one was looking to find the same knife as the one I am having an issue with. Based on this issue he is reconsidering the purchase. Money possibly lost already Spyderco... One of them buy a TON of knives a year, the other was also trying to decide between a Positron and a ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Strike one, you're out! It must be the principle, because the postage to Colorado shouldn't be more than five or six bucks...

In my recent experience, *very* few companies still send out call tags for returns and even those you usually have to beg for the free shipping.

Both of my FRN D'flies ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Question for those who own Dragonfly 2 with FRN handles.

I recently got the Burnt Orange Sprint run. It's my first D2 with FRN although I have G10 and Nishijin models.

I noticed the new one has lock rock which appears to be caused by the blade moving on the pivot when open and locked.

Is this ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Well, I spoke with Spyderco and they said I can send it in for "warranty evaluation", but I have to pay to ship it in. Despite the fact that she agreed it was likely defective. I don't blame her, she is just working within the parameters set forth for her. But you would think there would be a ...

Re: Burnt Orange Drangonfly 2 lock rock

Does Spyderco consider it a warranty issue?

Like D said, its worth a try. Most here will recommend sending it to them first before monkeying with it, you don't want to void your warranty. Also like I mentioned earlier, they should have a replacement should it fail spec where as an online dealer ...

Enough that the blade moves visibly. I can also feel the front edge of the lock bar moving with it although I can't see the lockbar moving. All with moderate pressure.

That is the reason I purchased my original CoPilot knife - so I could legally take it on flights with me. Of course, this was back in the early 1990s before flying got weird and uncomfortable... The CoPilot is a great knife though - it is the only all-stainless Spydie I own. Unfortunately, I never ...
