Nice design. While reading this thread I just happen to have a 5.11 Min Pin in my pocket today. It's not a spydie but it's cheap and I'm grinding and welding steel today. http://www.511tactical.com/min-pin-folding-knife-plain-edge.html I like the pointed rather than rounded thumb ramp on the Min Pin...

Keep in mind I'm the picky eater when I say that meal sounds like YUK! :) Another subject is when you change locations where the food is different. I thought I knew what country cooking was like until I moved to Mississippi. :) Catfish buffet with the heads on! They also have catfish big enough to ...

True :) It would be coke and chips if many had their way.

Some kids have to be forced if they hate all vegetables, for example. I think it's common for parents to take it too far though

I think parents have a built in fear that their kids will be in danger if they don't eat everything in front of them. Maybe it stems from when we didn't know when we would eat again.

I think if a kid is healthy and eats nutritiously there's nothing to worry about.

Off topic but I learned to tie my shoes correctly in my 40s when I stumbled on this site. Turns out to be a common mistake.

I didn't notice any knives in this video but there are some blade tools. Weird Al, Amish Paradise :) http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lOfZLb33uCg There's a large Mennonite area in southern Ontario. I don't remember which is a sub group of which but Amish and Mennonites are related. The Mennonites I've s...

That looks nice Jack. What technique did you use? I've been thinking of forcing a patina on my Dfly because I don't cut anything that would cause it. I'm thinking maybe I should to get ahead of rust.

Well I did it.... Frankenfly is mine. Needs a bit of adjustment though, I had both backspacers out so I went ahead and swapped em along with the blades. Now the g10 sb combo take way more force than I'm used to to depress the lock bar. The bar also sits slightly below the liners(.005" ish). I ...

The OP was asking about limitations in slicing dense material. The Techno's primary limitation there is the width of the blade. While ½ mil won't turn it into a box cutter it is roughly ⅛ of the total width of that portion of the blade. I wouldn't call 12.5% of most things insignificant. But this is...

There would be less blade width passing through the material it's cutting. Nothing major though, maybe a half a mil.

A bit of a radical mod but it would be a better slicer. I wouldn't do it because I don't slice hard material or do food prep and I like that comfortable thumb rest. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d138/gph61/20140506_220109_zps99db1344.jpg It's funny how that mod says utility or tactical and this ...
