Re: 2018 Spyderco Resolutions

I am the opposite of ConspicuousConsumption, I buy them when I am stressed. Good for the heart. Makes me relax playing with a new Spydie.

Like SpyderNut, I'm always looking forward to the forum knife. Please do put the "Forum Knife 'date'" on it, if I can influence the vote.

Re: CQI Caly 3.5 ZDP-189

You need a C90GRE, Stretch British Racing Green ZDP-189, if you want a completely ZDP blade without any 420J2 cladding, or anything else for that matter. It is a truly beautiful knife. Try it, you'll like it. Sharp....

What plan. If they are sized in longs too, I'd be down for at least 3. What a shirt! It would get a lot of wear. Love the idea Shabowie, great thinking!

Re: Sharpening forum

This discussion has gotten far from the original question. Do we want a Sharpening Forum here? I for one vote yes and will read it if Cliff or Stuart has a comment to make. If you don't, then don't read it. Better yet, why not make it a SubForum ala General Discussion, Off-Topic, etc? Just my 2 cent...

Re: The 1960s: Televisions Very Best Shows EVER

My ultimate favorites in the comedy genre were Rowan & Martin's Laugh In and the Carol Burnet Show. Had a chance to see some of the Carol Burnett Show and I laughed 'til I cried. Could not talk for several minutes. Great humor. I have not seen any Rowan & Martin lately, but a few years ago I...

Re: Why everyone should carry two (at least) knives for EDC

I carry two. One for serious work, A Spydie C172GBLTIP, which is a flip knife and a beauty and an SAK Explorer, for utility tasks. I almost never loan out a knife, I figure if someone needs one he should be carrying their own. If they fail to do that, I'll take on the job and then suggest the obvious.

Re: To carry, or not to carry a fire steel...that is the question.

When I'm camping I carry both a fire steel and a BIC lighter. I'm a natural pessimist. Whatever can go wrong probably will in the outback, therefore I carry both. On a daily basis I carry the steel, I'm an ex-smoker and I don't want to be tempted.

I would suggest you look up bentoboxshop.com. I have bought several from them, including some specials not available anywhere else, and they have always been completely reliable.

stand corrected once again. The catalog of knives only goes to knives introduced up to 2010. Model C143 is the last entry.

Old age will get you.

Re: Researching older Spyderco knives

I stand corrected. I've only looked up recent knives lately. Here's a list, with pictures, of most of the rest. Not including Japanese or Chinese.

Take a look.

Re: Researching older Spyderco knives

Use the Spyderco catalog online in the first page. You can find any knife, current or discontinued, in that as well as pictures and measurements of the knife in question. Another great resource provided to us by the wonderful management.
Good luck!!

Re: Another serration/serrated blade question

Anyone else tired of the "serrated" knives in restaurants these days? Even the separate knives presented for the slicing of a piece of good beef. I was tempted to offer my services to sharpen them, but maybe they are afraid of putting a knife that sharp in the hands of an average customer....
