Re: Question about Southard authenticity - pics added

Nope your not asking too much. If it doesn't satisfy you then return it. It's your money after all. Can I suggest something? Order from another dealer. Many will inspect the knife before it gets sent out to make sure it's what you are looking for. I'm a cutlery shoppe fan. Jeff or Bailey are always...

Re: Question about Southard authenticity - pics added

I've had pretty good luck with Amazon, too. However, I did by a serrated Police 3 that I think was a counterfeit because it was impossible to open or close one-handed. I sent it back for a refund.

"I'm a cutlery shoppe fan. Jeff or Bailey are always willing to open a box and check centering, even grind etc."

This is the solution to your problem. Jeff'll treat ya right.

Re: work knife suggestions.

Tod, Try the trick of brushing the lock aside. I can do it with both left or right hand. IIRC, i posted the trick over the BF thread. Thanks for the tip, Anagarika, I'll give it a try. Hmmm, looks like JAMinn already has his new knife, but the question now is, How long can we keep this thread goin'...

Re: work knife suggestions.

Gentlemen, I bow to your greater knowledge and experience. I love the knife, don't get me wrong, but closin' that son-of-a-gun is a bear. I'll keep working at it, and thanks for the replies.

Re: work knife suggestions.

Am I the only person in the world who finds the Bradley folder impossible to close one-handed? If you look at a scale with ease of closing at one end and lock strength at the other, the Bradley definitely falls much closer to the lock strength end than the sweet spot between the two. Just sayin'. I ...

My tender, wounded soul cries out piteously for a SE SpyderHawk reissue. Sal, are you listening?

My wife "borrowed" my hawkbill ladybug. :(

My Enduras are always getting maudlin and weepy over Hallmark Channel movies. Drives me nuts.

New Serrata I bought for myself! I had it for a couple weeks (found a great deal) and left it in the box until now. Woo-hoo!

To me, it's like admiring someone's unattractive baby. You just oooh and aaaah and make weird baby talk noises at it and say how wonderful it is and then give it back just as soon as is commensurate with polite public discourse.

What the others said...it is a knife that cuts fibrous stuff well, due to the mini serrated effect that the edge has... But it is still a knife, a matter separator...( Sal's description about a knife, if he does not mind me using them here in this context?) Intended function ? To cut fibrous materi...

the Serrata, what's its intended role?

If this has been discussed elsewhere, my apologies. I did a cursory if not exhaustive search and didn't see anything. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew what role Mr. Ackerman had in mind for the Serrata when he was designing it? Obviously, there's no law that says, Thou shalt not use this blade...

Heh, I totally forgot about starting this thread way back when. Got the Zulu when it was discontinued. Still not sure what to do with it, but I couldn't let this cool-looking little knife disappear before I snagged one.
