Sage 1

it is the best all around knife from the Sage series IMO especially considering your tasks (which are similar to what i use my Sage 1 for)
The texture is actually more grippy than you think, the grip is very comfortable, lock-up and action is strong, smooth, and no play, wire clip is perfect ...

100% for it. I feel that the manix design/purpose calls for it.

Ever since i saw the above picture a while ago, ive had the itch for one.

I think the para 2 is about as good as you can get for an all around knife.

After all this talk of short stock ive been seeing, what is the production life spawn normally on a popular model like this?? This question is prob best suited for someone who has been with Spyderco for a while and seen the good ones come and go... like when does a popular model reach disco?

With 90 bucks, i would look at the Stretch, All black Manix2, Dfly 2, and the ones you listed. Any of these would be a good addition to your line up.

I love the hole in the blade design. Honestly thats what initially made me look into Spyderco, i thought it looks really cool and had no idea on how much easier it made it to deploy the blade. I think the more you play/fondle your spydies (like practice opening and grips), the more "second nature ...

someone once told me that the weight of the knife determined the quality :confused: they didnt know much about knives lol

i think the manix would be a good lower-cost option
