Yea except the Schempp Rock essentially is one. I had a more traditional design in mind. Or something like the cold steel kukri, but more practical as a utility blade (the cold steel kukri sm 3 that i have is good for an axe replacement or weapon and that's it). Your right the Schempp Rock is kukri...

For what do you need a knife? Yo2 is great for SD. Para2 and Millie are workhorses. Street Beat is a fixed blade and therefor stronger, etc. I would buy if i had to choose from your list the the Para 2. Great compact EDC all round knife. If you want to buy a fixed blade from spyderco go for the dayh...

If you think the world is overpopulated then it is your duty to be the first one to take a dirt nap Mr. Plague ;) LOL why should i? I'm not the root of all evil on this subject! Read some books, scientific articles and do some research on the subject. Maybe you will learn something new and be less ...

Interesting thread. Ive read something about this in the national geographic magazine UK version. From a scientific point of view mankind is a plague. Centuries ago when someone was sick, he probably died. There was not a lot of food, etc. Improvements on that are not the main cause of a explosion o...

The more I use it, the more I like this little knife. I agree. I have three poliwog's. Great little user knife with amazing ergonomics. This and the khukuri are the knives that i EDC the most. The bal baring lock is fun to play with. Notice that above the bal there's a emty space so that noting get...

Some Gyrinocheilus are handy, plants, a hiding place for your fishes like a small amphora. And if you go on a holiday put enough food in your tank! (Depending on the species of fish you can put in some pieces of cucumber with a weight so that it sinks and stays in place.) Pay attention with species ...

Most classy gentleman's knife?
I find the spyderco walker the most classy and beautiful gentleman knife. Even compared to other brands, i still like this design the most. The böker walker can't compete to this model. I like it even more than the klotzli walker designs. The blade shape of the spyderco walker is outstanding and the...

The only thing I would argue with the thread bumper is with modern innovation vs history. There are many things we did back then worse than today but that doesn't make modern innovations unnecessary...like penicillin or electricity. I never said that modern inovations are unnecessary. (comparing a ...

I disagree strongly. 1) fighting knives should have jimping? Ancient fighting knives (even a lot of modern knives) didn't had jimping. In medieval times people used weapons without jimping. Daggers didn't had jimping, original karambits didn't had jimping, original bowies didn't had jimping, the sam...

I like small and big folding knives. It depends a little on the situation i'm in. At home or in my spare time i like to carry a bigger knife. In my professional life, i carry a smaller knife like the poliwog or walker. More gentleman like and classy. And yeah i like also huge fixed blades. I use my ...
