I dont think it would make the knife stronger as it is just a coating on a blade, so IMO it basically comes down to... Do you want a black coated blade or a satin finished one?

Thanks to all for your replies. It is a great knife when locked in, probably the most lock I've felt. Also, thanks for the info about washing the pivot. My fault; I thought the clip was DLC like the blade. I wish. Thanks for the warm welcome. :) Welcome to the forums! The tenacious is one of the hi...

On one side, the bevel was quite a bit larger than the other side. Ok so what part of the edge isn't getting sharp, the recurve or the belly? Also you might not be hitting the actual edge of the knife so I would reccomend you take a sharpie/magic marker and completely color in the bevel and try the...

So I tried to improve the slightly dull edge on my zt 350 by hand, with a ceramic rod, and somehow I incredibly botched the job. It would barely even tear paper. A few days ago, I ordered a spyderco sharpmaker, and after receiving it in the mail, and about 3 hours of deliberation today, most of the...

Online dealers, some of my favorites are, Cutlery Shoppe and Howes Knife Shop! I don't have any local shops and I have only bought 2 knives on eBay. Usually CS has the best prices but it just depends on where you go

Well I for one believe that this phrase has already been stated this way by Sal and should remain the same as he stated it. The Deacon was reccomending it as a 2013 sprint run or something of the sort so if you don't like it just don't buy it... There are quite a few companies out there where a few ...

sal wrote: I would suggest that you get a 10X-12X loupe and study the edge on your knife while you are sharpening. As mentioned, finer grit goes very slow, best to use the coarsest grit until you have both sides of the edge at apex. This is easily seen with a loupe. Good luck.

Yep and IMO if you can't sharpen zdp (harder to sharpen than s30v according to almost everyone, though I have no s30v now) then I personally don't think you should start a sharpening business.
