Re: What is your favorite Delica variant?

My 10 year old Super Blue one is probably my favorite.

It's been banged up, but still takes a great edge and does what I need it to do.

I've been carrying my Cricket for over 7 years now. It makes for a great office knife.

Re: Any dog lovers?

Always had big dogs until a filthy 4.5 lb terrier mix showed up on my door step and needed a hand in 2002. Since then I have been adopting mostly senior Chihuahuas. My current little dude. His older brother on the left passed just before Thanksgiving.

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

Probably not. Most days, I carry a 3" folder. I have no issue with a 4" folder or 4-6" fixed blade.

I really don't have much need anything larger.

Re: 2023 - Did your preferences change or stay the same?

My lock preference has changed, but it was more due to necessity than anything else. I had always been a fan of the backlock, but I took a 400 mile bicycle trip on which I compressed nerves in both my hands. I had reduced strength and numbness for a couple months in both hands and was unable to easi...

Re: Where Have all the Calys Gone?

I really enjoy my calys and carried this SB 3.5 for almost 5 years before gifting it to a friend. I still have a few others, but generally carry light weights now. Definitely looking forward to the 3.5 LW

Looks Good. Didn't you do something similar to your Rock Lobster in the past?

Re: Military 2

Maybe the Stop Lock didn't end up the way they had hoped? Maybe that patent image we all saw was just drawn up in what looked like a Military, did anyone ever see a working prototype? Perhaps. See: https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=89515&p=1516658&hilit=Stop+lock#p1516658 T...

Re: Military 2

Pardon me if it was discussed somewhere and I missed it, but I thought the Military 2 was going to have the Stop Lock on it not the compression lock. When was this changed? I recall the stop-lock being discussed. I suspect that changed about the time it was decided the Military2 would not be a one-...

As much as I like the GB1, I normally throw a Stretch in my pocket instead.

It is mostly the weight that bugs me.

I am a big fan of the Caly 3.5. I carried this SB version for 5 years until I gifted it to a friend. I still have a VG10 3.5 and a couple 3 inch versions. I am looking forward to the lw version.

Re: boomerang buys?

I've done this twice. Once with a Bradley Folder 1 and with a Para 2. The Para 2 went from a S30V to 52100.

I have also gifted a knife and bought it again with the Hap40 Caly 3.

I have enough knives that I have something to carry when I need it. I don't buy many knives any more, but if there is something I want, I get it while it is available.

Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?

Many of the ones I enjoy are mentioned here. One that I have come to like and use a lot is the Junior. I have been carrying it on overnight bike rides. It works great for food and is light in the pocket. Grabbed this pic from GIS. Mine is not nearly as nice looking any more. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/n...

The only time I noticed XHP rust was when I went into the Atlantic ocean with my Chap LW in my pocket.

It cleaned off easy enough but it definitely rusted.

I've had and lost two of them.

While I love the little knife, the size and lack of clip really help me lose them.
