Re: What Spyderco for extreme snowy weather?

Something that is large and easy to use with numb tired hands and/or gloves. I had been carrying an older s30v Military. Recently it has been a SE Stretch 2 XL Salt.

Sv4,

Just what have you in the lanyard hole on that knife, or is that how the scales are? Really like the knife, nice sharp pointed blade design on it.
That is how the clip was attached.

Carrying a Caly 3 today.
I should probably clean it up a bit.

I tried to purchase from there once and within 5 minutes of clicking buy, my order was cancelled and I was refunded. Never went back.

The Civilian.... I wanted one since I first saw it in the 90s and bought my first Harpy.

I really have no use for it, but always liked it.

Re: Has anyone had a UKPK confiscated by police in the UK?

I’ve never been stopped or searched. I rarely even see a policeman.
I travel through train hubs where the police often focus their stop and search polices. My UKPK would set a knife arch alarm off no doubt. I'm wondering if a slightly smaller - yet just as legal as a UKPK - knife would cause me ...

Re: Para 3 LW handle va Para 3 G10 handle

I also have both the Lightweight and g10 versions. I prefer the handle feel and the clip of the lightweight. The g10 version definitely has a better action, but the clip placement leaves a ton of handle exposed. A deep pocket clip helps with this. Both are great knives and get plenty of pocket time.

Re: Is k390 overrated?

My biggest issue with rust is actually edge degradation, it's pretty annoying to sharpen a knife and then a few days later find that it's lost some of it's bite without even using it.

That is pretty annoying, but it is why I also started using a much coarser edge on tool steels. I first learned ...

Re: What is your all time favorite steel?

Aogami Super Blue is definitely one of my favorites. I carried a caly 3.5 in SB for at least 5 years until I passed it to a friend. I still carry both a SB Stretch and Delica regularly. Other than that, Hap40, Rex45, and 52100 all get regular use. None are the most corrosion resistant, but they ...

Re: Lil' Temperance K390 reviews in progress

Thanks for the write up. I like the LT3 a bunch.

Wish I would have grabbed the k390 version instead of the vg10, but regardless it is a banger.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

After a long, perilous journey, a NIB (kinda) Military in 52100 showed up today. I wanna thank @Evil D for all his posts on this knife. Been wanting one since I read his comments on the knife in 2016 or 2017 but was not able to get one until today. I have a bunch of other stuff going on so I hope ...

Re: Kicking myself (missed grail knives)

For me it was the Super Blue Endura. I was able to buy one, but the blade severely warped. I contacted support and sent it back to Spyderco. Unfortunately they didn't have any more in stock. They took care of me and gave me credit, but no Super Blue Endura for me.

Love the Ulize, but voted for the Spyderhawk.

If I wanted one back from the past, the JD Smith is one of my favorites. I had the green VG10 version but unfortunately lost it while in the woods.

Re: First Spyderco?

Mine was a Harpy purchased from a climbing store in Philadelphia somewhere around 1996. I was just finishing up university and was working as a bike messenger. The harpy was great and used to zip through strapping and packages. It was my first one handed knife and first pocket clip and lived in my ...
