I prefer CPM-M4. Stays sharper longer.

Re: Decision time what to purchase, don’t say by both
If your hand fits in the XL handle, it'll also fit fine on the Manix 2. That said, I picked the Manix 2 a long time ago.

A non-LW straight-spined Stretch/Stretch 2/XL in a version worthy of a steel snob's preferences.

Re: Thoughts on s90v
S90V is my favorite bladesteel. It doesn't need sharpening for a very long time, just touchups on the strop once in a while.
I favor it over other bladesteels so much that even my newest customs are in S90V.
It's good enough for Larrin and Phil, it's good enough for me

That clip looks straighter than the other examples I've seen, is that also on the site? I don't like the dog-leg ones pictured above.ramblinwreck wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 12:05 pmMy clip arrived today. While expensive, this makes a great knife excellent. Casey did a great job.

Delica, but has to be a Wharncliffe.
I tried to like the Native, but I prefer the Delica's blade angle in relation to the grip.

Some people just don't get it. Just because they like the mundane, doesn't mean there isn't any appeal in customization. Life's too short for boring stuff.

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?
There's absolutely no mods needed for a regular production Manix 2, nothing. All the supposed "upgrade" cages and balls and springs, are complete nonsense, and only exist to generate profits by the aftermarket sector. I've hardly ever seen a stock cage or ball fail on a properly used Mani...

Re: Manix Modifications. What have you done? What do you want to do?
all the aftermarket cages are for aesthetics. they don't change the function. i think they offer a substantially better grip over the plastic cage. but i never thought the plastic cage was slippery until i tried a metal cage. I agree. The metal cages definitely offer better traction. I replaced the...

I have a GB Air (CPM M4) that's gone through the wash several times. Not the same as the dishwasher, I know, but it's perfectly fine.

I'd get it reground to get rid of the flats, but the pinned construction is a nogo for me. If it had non-pinned variants, then maybe I'd consider it.

The Manix2 is already the smaller iteration of the original Manix. For anything smaller in a similar aesthetic, I have my Sage 2 or Chaparral.
