It should be me apologizing. Re-reading my thread I came off like an ***. I am sorry about that. Truly I am. I didn't mean to sound so ass-like, I was more refering that getting into balis (****, even knives in general) can be a pricey hobby. Again, I came off as a dick, it was not intended and I'm ...

I think he meant the full size SpyderFly, not the SmallFly Blake :) $250-$500 is too much? For a Bali? Dear lord, you just don't know do you. Stick with the Kimura, it's a GREAT entry level bali. If you're willing to expand and you want something that flips, look at the MT Tach II. It's right around...

Too funny. I pre-ordered back in April and forgot about it. Now it's on the way to me. This is the second Dodo I've gotten by mistake and I'm not a fan of the design at all. I gotta quit pre-ordering everything that pops up :spyder:

Ok, I'm excited about both! Been waiting on this knife since it was announced. And a follow up to Surtur is great news.

LOL, just because i just saw that pic today for this reason. I'm still on the fence about the Southard.

Starmate up for Pre Order

FYI, if you check with some of the better Spyderco dealers, you might find the new Starmate up for pre-order.

Good to know, thanks for the clarification!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but s30v contains Vanadium. Which is toxic. Why would you use it in food prep?

Any updates on the CTS 204P knives?

Really looking forward to these, both the Southard and the Para II sprint. Last I read, there were some issues on the heat-treat IIRC. Any updates?

TIA

This was covered over on BF, most agree that "Quatermaster" is just a Mantis off-shoot.

New Manix 2...WOW!

I just got a new Manix 2 and I was pleased to see it's the S30V, but what really caught me is the blade. The crappy cell pics don't do it justice, but it's almost mirror polished! http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m612/46alpha/manix.jpg http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m612/46alpha/20120908_201...

Meh, each to his own. Have you ever owned one? I for one prefer to form my own opinions vs following what I read on the internet. No offense meant, just thought you were more interested in the choice of steel. I've got the green para 2 on pre-order, it'll be intersting to see if it preforms the same...

Condition? Box/Papers? Is the item readily available from another source? I'm not asking, but these are all questions that should be answered. Also keep in mind the Brown s35vn Para II was not as a much of a hot item as some of the other Sprints (m390, CTS ect.) and if you're not dealing with someon...

The only caveat I'd mention is the Millie is tip down carry only. So if you carry tip up on your Endura, you're going to have to adjust a bit. For me, it was a deal breaker. Love the Millie, hate tip down. YMMV.

My answer was the Para2. Better lock (IMHO) and four way adjustable carry. Again, YMMV.
