Thanks Guys, Spyderco has always recommended mineral oil for utensils for food handling. Hoppe's is good. I use on my Glocks. TufGlide is meant to dry quickly. The drying is just the medium (mineral spirits) evaporating for the application of the dry film technology. It's oil free. Sorry, I'm sure y...

Back when I started collecting, SFO recommended Tuf Glide from Sentry Solutions to lube Spydies. Why have you changed to MilTec?

I might get some flak but here goes: First off - I DO distinguish between animals and men. Let me me ask a question: If you were attacked by a dog, a bear, whatever, would you hesitate to use a knife if you had one and it was the best weapon you had to defend yourself? I wouldn't hesitate. I would u...

I've seen titanium chopsticks, though I carry 3-4 metal pens on me at all times anyways (hand a young child a pocket knife and a pencil, ask em which one they'd use to stab a sibling). I'm not quite as adept at eating with chopsticks as I once was, might take me some practice to get to the point I ...

Mucho gracias deacon!!
No John. The Fourm started in May 2000. A foul up during a software or database upgrade in 2004 resulted in the start dates of everyone registered at that point getting reset to Sept 2004. That's why you, me, and Patrick all have that date. If you want to see some of the really old stuff, this is a...

I'll bet The Deacon remembers
Deac, Do you recall the beginning of SForums? Originally, all the spydiefolks would gather and share and Sal used to answer questions on the Spyderco section of BladeForums. And OUILA this site !! "When I was kid I had to walk up hill both ways to buy a new Spydie. Sharpened em on a rock. Didn'...

Good Eats / Alton Brown
Alton Brown, the guy on Good Eats, did a 4 part miniseries called Feasting On Asphalt where they did a motorcycle ride from New Orleans to the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Minnesota. That's where I saw him with a Benchmade. Not sure which model NOW be aware that he endorses (a hefty agreem...

Regarding Fakes, Counterfeits, and Scondrels
This appeared on the sub category about the above SmoothOne25 suggested putting it here. BTW I did respond to SO25 there too. "Particularly for Tazchristi, but please - I welcome any one to respond. Does Spyderco pursue the perps now? I've been out of circulation for awhile, but, it appears to ...
