Re: “Best” steels video with Larrin

Funny how many reaction on LCvs S30V. My main point was that M390 is MUCH better than S30V. I am not a CATRa tester, just regular user with Sharpmaker and cardboard to cut😉😃 I used to check my edge with my nail. If it glide smooth its OK, if it has small chips or flat spots you can feel as a "b...

Re: “Best” steels video with Larrin

Enjoy the video. Only I cant agree that S30V and M390 are in the same category. M390 have much better edge retention in my use than S30V.Tried both in mulptile knives with same results. So M390 as a high edge retention steel. Lc200N is my favourite balance steel. Edge retention better than VG10/ S30...

Re: What are your top 5 favorite steels?

Some years later I like to update my favourite. 1. LC200N awsome steel, decent edge holding, toughness, no worry about corossion and easy sharpening.I can get it screaming sharp faster than VG10👌🏼 2. K390 when I dont have to worry about corrosion it could be my number one. Great edge holding, toughn...

Re: S110V & ZDP-189: Not Down & Out IMO

Tried ZDP one time, but did not impress me🙄 S110V on the other hand was my main EDC for almost two years. Great stuff, but a bit harder to get sharp🤔Then I had some tool steel passion next. K390 is best steel. Much better than M4, Rex 45 IMHO. Amazing edge holding, toughness and super easy to sharpe...

Re: Manbug Leaf

Lot of work and waiting for a new version. This is how should Manbug looks from the begining IMHO. I am still more of a wharncliffe fan. Mainly in smaller blades ( sub 3”) where its most usefull. Just like Sal, I use it around no knife poeple and its a great mail opener / utility blade. There it shi...

It was in the last SpyderBite. Wharnclife blade with low top fits best in compresion lock handle, thats why its not backlock.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

I'm surprised at how much excitement there was around here for the drop of this knife, but I've barely seen or heard a peep about it since. https://i.postimg.cc/DwQvzcMw/20230412-085620.jpg I’m affraid, but thats the way it goes for years around here. Huge excitment when released, quick sold out an...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2023 Report

What is a bit weird for me is the weight of MicroJimbo vs. Lil Native wharnclife. Size , materials, blade thicknes is almost the same. You actualy said that Micro has thinner tip, but has more weight🤨🙄 Just hope it is a mistake. I like them both, but Jimbo a bit moore😇

That's a killer edge, what grit finish? Looks coarse...which I personally love.
Main edge bevel is finished to 400 grit, microbevel finished at 1000 grit, then stropped with 1 micron diamond.
What angle it is? Look about 15 deg. per side, or lower.

Re: which is your ergonomic masterpiece?

Almost every Spyderco is awsome in ergomomy. I just go with Para 3 LW.
Got the best from the Millie and PM2, but in compact and very comfortable package. Round edges helps a lot.
Honorable mention C95 Manix backlock. Smooth handle with no jimping. Fits like a glove😇

Vivi do You have the same edge on FFG Pacific Salt 2? Is there any differnce in performance between H1 and LC200N? Except the geometry. Hollow, FFG.

Re: K390 Endela…..thank you Sal.

K390 Endura was my EDC for a year and it was fantastic. Light, thin, long edge. K390 is awsome steel. Hold the edge great, doesn’t chip and is easy to sharpen. Next I tried ZDP and it was noticeable less edge holding. Altghou pretty much stainless in compare to K390. Right now I have Maxamet and it ...
