Re: M4 knives
My first was Air. It also my first non stainless super steel. Blow my mind. Than later original Bradley folder and even GB2. Unfortunately I sold them all. Tried many, many Spydercos since and Gayle Bradley knives where always in my heart as the best slicers ever.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2026 Report
I must say I am a bit disapointed. Its 50 aniversary and was expecting new Gayle Bradley folder, Shawn Houston folder or something exciting like that. Not one from this is a buy for me

Re: VG-10 criticism: why?
Have this steel on multiple knives over more than 10 years and it never strike me as a very good one. Not very good edge holding and sharpening took way long for such a mediocre steel.
LC200N / Magnacut both are easier and keener to get very sharp. Edge holding on Lc is comparable and Magnacut is ...

What about that "crown tiger"? It will be on all knives? Or it is optional like the REC Scorpio logo?

Re: Inside a Lil' Temperance - and comparison to the newer Lil' Temperance 3
I have Lt3 K390 and also Microjimbo 15V. Knives are tools for me, not weapons. I like both these "self defens" knives. Each show different aproach. And both serves me well as EDC. Wharncliffe is excelent box cutter, leaf shape is great in food prep, wood cutting etc. As Sal used to says. All good ...

Re: Inside a Lil' Temperance - and comparison to the newer Lil' Temperance 3
I get LT3 K390 this summer. Mostly because I want K390 without backlock. Was not sure if I would like the design. Get some nice discount on it, so I gave it a try.
Like the knife from the first flick. Nice ergos, comfortable in every grip, thick blade, but still cuts very good, K390 is one of my ...

Re: What is your favorite high Carbon non stainless steel?
K390 was my long time top steel. This year I get 15V wich I like very much as well and my second try on Maxamet. After a month Maxamet is everything I read about and everything I hoped it will be. With zero complain so far. Agressive edge, no sign of dulling, easy to strop and tough enough for my use.

Very nice work RustyIron.
I put 15DPS on my Microjimbo 15V, but only to 800 grit diamond. Like it with some bite
