Re: The Military is greater than all other folders because...

Liner locks are the most intuitive for one handed closing, but with practice its pretty easy to close a Spydie back lock or comp lock one handed. I operate the lock with my thumb and use my forefinger in the Spydie hole to fold the blade closed. Give it a try.

I agree. This is my first one but I doubt it’s my last. Their line started out too overbuilt for my taste, but I really like a lot of their current designs. Spyderco, Lion Steel, and now ZT are my three favorite brands.

Re: If you like the Military...

bearfacedkiller, you summed up the differences pretty well. Here are some pictures comparing blade stock and handle thickness. Keep in mind that the 0452 has a swedge that makes it appear much thinner than it actually is. https://s2.postimg.org/3sdmt6649/021_B1_DD3-_F3_E0-466_E-9_CC9-_C4218_BA9_CD52...

Re: If you like the Military...

When I get home I'll try to get a picture that shows how they compare in those measurements. Handle thickness seems to be about the same. Also, blade thickness is about the same, too, but the 0452CF maintains that thickness for more of the blade since it's a saber grind (with a swedge) compared to t...

If you like the Military...

But want a frame-lock flipper, you ought to check out the ZT 0452CF. I recently got one and love it. The handle is a little bit shorter and the blade is a little bit longer than the Milly’s (awesome blade:handle ratio). It fits my medium-sized hand very well and takes up much less room in the pocket...

Re: What's the appeal of deep carry?

I've only bought one deep carry clip and that was for my fluted Ti Native after I marred one of the scales by bumping up against my granite countertop. With the deep carry clip, it is totally in my pocket and out of harm's way. I also don't think the aftermarket clips look bad. In my case, it hasn't...

You’ll love it. I’m already considering a bronze one for my 2013 (dark green) forum Native.

MXG Deep Carry Clip on My Fluted Ti Native

About a week ago I finally receive my grail knife (Fluted Ti Native) thanks to it being heavily discounted after it was discontinued. The day I got it, i bumped into the corner of my granite countertop while it was clipped to my pocket and I put a little dent in the corner of the handle scale! I imm...

Re: Discontinued models on sale... what to do?!?

I ordered one of the Fluted Ti Natives. The Native 5 is my favorite model but the Fluted Ti was always too expensive. Couldn’t pass up $180 at BHQ.

Spyderco Techno Never liked the design. Too fat and heavy I thought... Now I bought one and I really like it! The CTS-XHP is a strange steel to sharpen though. But it gets a killer edge on the Wicked Edge! https://i.imgur.com/Acl0glF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EDZGW15.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UzBNRXS.j...

Re: Name a Spyderco knife you did not think you would like until you owned it.

Delica/Endura: Thought they looked cheap and unattractive. Went to Blade HQ (I live not that far from it) to check out a Delica and immediately realized what all the fuss was about. I won't go so far as to call it or the Endura attractive, but they are such great tools. I think every knife enthusias...

Re: Re: Name a Spyderco knife you thought you would like but didn't once you owned it.

Fluted Ti Military: I so wanted this knife and jumped at the chance when I got a great deal on one back when they were still blue. It was so cool looking and very smooth, but I found myself reaching for my G10 XHP Military way more often since it was so much lighter. I eventually sold the Flute Ti M...

Re: S90V Fluted Carbon Fiber Native 5 is alive!

Spyderco does do that with a few models. I'm thinking of the Delica/Endura, Manix 2/Manix XL, Para 3/Paramilitary2/Military, and Dice/Domino. I'm probably missing a few. Also, with the Native you have the upcoming Shaman. It sounds like the Native isn't for you. I love it and am happy that Spyderco ...

Re: The Wire Clip: express your love, hate, indifference

I much prefer the hourglass clip to a wire clip. I like how inconspicuous the wire clips are, but an hourglass clip is so much easier to get in and out of pocket one-handed.
