Re: Cutleryshoppe Exclusive Wharncliffe PM2 Orange and DLC

I was gifted the xhp satin warnie for Christmas. This might be my favorite work knife. I usually rotate my pm2 standard s30v blade and cutlery shop hap40 endura for a plain edge blade, paired with a full serrated pac salt 2. The blade profile and length are perfect on this pm2. I would probably buy ...

Re: Has Anyone Used a Spyderco Folder for Field Dressing?

I’ve used my pm2 and militaries before. My problem with using a folder is the gunk getting in the lock work. Not a big issue though. A quick rinse in the field and a scrub down at the house. My 52100 military took on a richer patina after dressing a deer out, m4 steel not so much. I usually have a f...

Re: We need more Millie’s

I think there is a lot of hate/crying about liner locks. I have been gifted liner lock chinese truck stop knives, they are unsafe to use most of the time. I would take a millie liner lock over the comp lock any day. It’s easier to use the millie liner lock with gloves of any thickness compared to th...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

...... I would still be very interested in another run of Spyderhawks or a completely new design. ........ Get some liners in there, use the updated Endura handle, full flat grind SE K390. That’s a hard use blade right there. My k390 mule is a beast. Serrated flat grind hawkbill would be epic in k3...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

It seems the stars have been aligning quite nicely for the Spyderhawk to proudly rise from the ashes again... In the meantime I got a generous offer from a member on here for a orange one nib so that will satisfy my urges for the time being. Then there's the Merlin and the Tasman 1 and the g10 Harp...

Re: Wife washed my knife- screws fell out

The pivot screw recently backed itself out of my 1 week old pacific salt 2 lc200n also. I contacted spyderco and they are sending a replacement. I checked my other enduras and my new tasman. No loctite on the pivot screws, i remedied that with blue loctite. The odd thing is the pocket clip screws a...

Re: I want a new knife, but something different

The vallotton has always piqued my interest. Something different but looks good also. The myrtle has an unique look to the blade I just saw it on clearance at knifeworks. From the picture it didn’t look like it had a steel insert on the frame lock bar

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

I’ve already seeing the benefits of the hawkbill design. My wrist stays in a neutral position opening boxes, the end of the blade is the right spot. I cut zip ties and strapping fairly often at work. Serrated is king for cutting those, a serrated hawkbill blade makes it easier for sure. I still pref...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

I usually don’t gravitate to blades of this size due to the smaller handle. I prefer larger handles for the size and of my hands especially if gloves are involved. The spydie hole in the blade is sharp, my preference, so it shouldn’t be an issue opening it with gloves. A g10 spyderhawk with liners ...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

I just got my pacific salt 2 lc200n de and tasman se in today. I’m definitely liking the hawkbill so far. I’ve always passed on the tasman due to the handle size. I just noticed the delica size handle is longer than the walmart $30 s30v native I carried for years every day. Looking forward to puttin...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

I went ahead and picked up a Tasman serrated when I ordered a pacific salt 2 in lc200n. I would prefer the spyderhawk but this will give me the chance to check out the hawkbill design and compare h1 vs lc200n in serrated. I lost my original pacific salt hunting last year. Hopefully they will arrive ...

I believe the screws were an update to the salt/endura before the endura 4 scale design came out.

I’m going to sharpen all of my knives with a coarse edge now due to this thread. Excellent work. The k390 mule is first.

Re: More Serrated/Spyderedged Fixed Blades Please!!!

I would be in for some serrated mule team blades. I’ve been using my k390 mule more lately. The blade design is already there, perfect utility blade. It would be a good test bed for different steels with teeth.

Re: Will the Spyderhawk be available again?

Hope so. Too good for gardeners to be without. Excellent for this application. I hope it's not green for this reason. I like green, but I'll lose it If it doesn't come to fruition, the Matriarch is also a very solid consolation. I love that thing for yard work and landscape trimming. She's a beast!...

Re: Are you interested in a new run of Spyderhawk hawkbill?

I missed out on getting the last sprint run. I’ve been on the hunt for one since they sold out. I would definitely pick a new release up. I have almost picked up the Tasman a few times but the handle is too small for my hands. If a new spyderhawk version ever is released i think it wouldn’t be for a...

Re: 52100 military sprint

Maybe instead we could get it in high hardness AEB-L. AEB-L when given the good heat treat is everything 52100 is, except slightly tougher and stainless. I’ve heard good reports about this steel. Most of what I’ve read has been about LT Wright fixed blades. I’m a fan of LT’s treatment of A2 steel. ...

Re: Millie Minority

I had a look at the Military. Blade shape looks practical, handle hand filling - but does it have to be that crazy long? I mean - the cutting edge is barely longer than on the Chief, but the handle is considerably longer - even though Chief ‘wastes’ a good portion of the blade on the choil. For ver...
