If you go by The Spyderco Story, AUS-8 is the more rust resistant of the two, while GIN-1 (G-2) holds an edge longer. Never had a rust problem with either, both seem to hold an edge pretty well, so the differences are probably the type that would only be noticed during Q-fog and CATRA testing ...

AUS-8 vs G-2

Have a few questions to those of you that may know. Between AUS-8 and G-2 steel which one is the better and why. I have noticed that the old model Endura Clipit's came with both steels and was wondering if someone knew the time frame that they were used on the Clipits. Thanks in advance....
