I've owned a loooooad of high end knives (Hinderers, CRKs, Striders, ZT, Microtech, a pile of customs...)

I still own other knives and carry them but... whats in my pocket today? A Military! (Cf/m390)

senorsquare,

Thanks for the amusing and educational posts!

About how much force did you apply before it snapped? Anything you could think to compare it to?

Are you going to take the tang out now and see if it will fit in a regular Manix handle? :D

Mmmmm Militarys!

I was so proud of myself for getting down to only six! (S90v, M4, Ats-55 SE and 3 X M390)

But I don't have any in Ti right now... That might soon chance thanks to Mr. RadioactiveSpyder the perpetual enabler!

The new gray fluted ones have slightly thicker scales than the older blue ones and weigh just a titch more too. I don't know if if shows up very well in this pic, but it's very noticeable in hand. The new fluted ones feel more "solid" like the standard Ti Millies. Just when I had convince...

I love my blue Military, it's actually in my pocket right now!

That said I feel it's overpriced direct from BBS and I lucked into buying mine on the secondary market for considerably less than BBS is asking for them.

This is exactly right! Well said paladin!

Mine is showing no signs of patina or corrosion and it seems to work well as a dry lubricant.

I have Landon. Great results, besides voided warranty. Patina is a beautiful thing except in your pivot hole, tang, and tang lock bar interface. Careful application of the Frog Lube allows the best of both worlds, IMHO. Frog Lube "seasons" the metal and does not retain any sticky, wet vis...

Sharpmaker has always worked for hawkbills for me!

I find it easiest to place the sharpmaker near the edge of a table when doing so, gives my arm room to move down and get the whole blade!

Grab one of the recently released Cruwear Militarys (still relatively available on the secondary market for ~$200) and dye the g10 black or swap the blade into a black handle?

Or do the same with one of the blue s90v Militarys still available from the dealer... if you can stomach BBS
