Re: Canadian UKPK

Hi SharpCn, We spent 2 years waiting for an audience with the Crown with an attorney on retainer. We were seeking a number to which we could build. We built a special machine to measure the amount of force it takes to open a knife and we sent samples to the crown of varying strengths. All were cons...

Re: Canadian UKPK

The fear of flickable knives in Canada, as I understand, is based on someone's ability to conceal a knife in a closed hand, get close to a Police Officer (or other innocent) and instantly produce a deadly force that was not visible and cause harm or kill someone. sal I like your optimism and glass-...

Re: Will Any Blade Steel Ever Replace VG-10?? If So When?

I have come full circle - back to VG-10.

I really like VG-10 properties, especially its rust resistance. It touches up very easily and I've never had a chipping problem with it.

I find a lot of the super steels chippy and harder to touch up.

Re: There is an Appeal to the Canadian ban on one hand opening knives!

The e-petition is getting close to 6,000 signatures. Even better news is that there is a lot more going on with this whole issue now. Not only is there the government e-petition, but there is also a fundraiser for a legal challenge as well! http://knifenews.com/attorney-asks-knife-community-to-suppo...

Re: There is an Appeal to the Canadian ban on one hand opening knives!

It may or may not get overturned, but if this petition gets enough signatures, it will be read in parliament. And that is way more attention than this issue has gotten so far so it is progress.

Thank you for signing!

If we all spread the word, maybe it will make a difference.

Re: There is an Appeal to the Canadian ban on one hand opening knives!

Here is a quick overview of the situation with folding knives in Canada: 1. A Canadian person attempted to import 5 pocket knives into Canada. 2. A Canadian border agent opened his parcel and examined the knives. He flicked them open using the flipper and decided that they are switchblades. 3. The b...

There is an Appeal to the Canadian ban on one hand opening knives!

There is a government e-petition to reverse the Canada Border Service Agency decision to ban knives that open with on hand. This new ban is affecting the import of Spyderco (and other brand) knives into Canada. This is a genuine government petition. If it gets enough signatures, it will get read in ...

Re: Police4 FRN ETA

I am a big fan of the Police line and I really hope that a lightweight FRN version gets off the ground. Personally, I would like to see the FRN version in a stainless steel, s90v or s110v perhaps. I would also prefer that the handle shape of the FRN version kept the slightly better defined shape of ...

The store I bought mine from is sold-out of them, that is a pretty good indicator of the new knife's reception.

Re: Police K390...yea it's freaking awesome.

I waited a long time to get the Police 4 and I have been totally enjoying it for the last month or so. I really like the new blade shape, it makes a big difference when cutting to have that extra belly, much more of the blade edge is usable for each cut. My initial impression when I removed it from ...

I have been canoe camping for many years and have gone through the same decision many times, and for summer camping I would recommend without hesitation an Endura with flat grind blade in VG10 steel and handles in the colour of your choice: - very rust resistant - very easy to sharpen - excellent sl...

Re: Anyone else excited for the new police model

Ok, it is officially April and the last update I heard was April-May. I have been trying to put the release of the Police 4 on the back burner of my mind because I am impatient by nature. But now that April is here, it is back on my mind...probably prematurely but... Has anyone heard any updates on ...

I am very interested to hear more about the plans for the Police 4. I look forward to buying one. I am happy you are planning on staying with the mid-lock/lockback. I have tried all the other locks designs and have come full circle back to this lock. The only liner lock I have left in my collection ...

Sal,

I am really curious about the improvements you are considering after having carried the Police 3 for a few weeks.

Its a great knife. I am still hoping it can make it to production.
