OK, to reply to a few of you, in order of the original comments: @phillipsted My most used knife is the Foliage Green Urban: lightweight, compact and legal where I'm located, alternatively I carry a UK Penknife, a Squeak or a Victorinox Cadet. I also have a Leatherman Juice with me, but it doesn't g...

Is there an excellent Spyderco knife?

Howdy folks, I've just received today Spyderco number 50 in my collection, and decided to look over all of them. And I got surprised: none would make it in my top 10 of knives. It seems that spydies are some of my most used and greatest knives, but if I want to show a friend an excellent knife they ...

A few were sold last year, I've seen one pre-ordered it and I'm waiting since then. If you search here there is a thread explaining the process. And why there is only a few dozen made each time ...

Sorry about that it seems, that there is some issues with the way images get attached to the post, it looks like I fixed it by removing the ATTACH tag ... Weird.

Belt, way too heavy for my neck. As it's a custom version from Mr Voxnæs, it came with a nice kydex sheath and a tek-lok.

In the Delica pic, what did you use to fill the holes of the black frn models? It looks like some glow dots.

If you can still find one, as they are getting discontinued, a Caspian Salt might be something to look at. As a fixed blade if you are not using it you'll have it on your belt or PFD. Much harder to lose :)

What I'd like to see and I'm always looking for is some nice higher end shears. Nicer would be an EDC pair of shears and an outdoor pair of shears.

Nietzsche is probably my favorite: always pushing the boundaries of what humans are and could be. Second I guess all the Enlightenment guys (Voltaire, Rousseau, Locke, etc.) for inspiring the American and French Revolutions. Third place would go to libertarians/mutualists/anarchists like Proudhon or...

BTW, it seems now even legal to have a small knife for air travel, but still no liquids. On a recent trip, going through Düsseldorfs airport my father didn't want to check in his luggage: they took away his shampoo bottle but the small SAK he forgot in his bag was fine (they gave it back to him afte...

You would also be fine in Germany with a fixed blade. The rules for Germany are: - no automatic, balisong, gravity knife - no knife being both one hand opening and locking - no knife longer than 12cm - if you have a valid reason you can go bigger: e.g. you go hunting. For France, it's a bit more com...

Not knowing what a yoshi blade knife was, I just searched for it on google: the first site returned was on the website yoshi-blade.pissedconsumer.com with a title including rip-off scam

:D Not exactly a vote of confidence.

I have a lot of black handled knives but that's because there is usually no choice, my personal preference go to natural colors (greens, browns, some grays) or blueish (i.e. like the fluted millies). On the other hand, I tend to carry knives with bright colored handles as they are less problematic f...

I'm using a pelican 1600 case with pluckable foam, great for storage, not so great for adding knives to your collection: you need to remove all the knives from the case before being able to add the required holes for the new one. On the other side it lets you fondle your knives once in a while :)

Should it make a difference? A well conceived auto knife uses a spring that will stay within its elastic limit, open or close. So the strength of the spring won't be affected by storing it open or close. For the same reason, you can store a magazine empty or full, it should not make a difference, at...
