Re: EDC Hygiene: Fixed Blade VS. Folder

I usually clean my blades after I used them, so they are in general clean enough to cut food when I need them to. If I notice they are not clean, I'll wipe them down before I cut food. I don't think too much about it.

Re: My First Bento Box Shop Experience

I bought my first Spyderco, the grey PM2 CTS-20CP, and first run Smurf blue PM2 M390 from them. πŸ‘

They stopped doing international shipping soon after that. πŸ‘Ž

Re: Experienced Serrated Edge K390 users wanted.

I don’t know if it is at all helpful but I do pretty much exactly what Hans does using a conical diamond file. Where I differ slightly is that I clamp the knife blade teeth pointing out into a ball and socket bench vise (one that rotates in all directions that I use for holding chainsaws by their g...

Re: Tip Up vs Tip Down Poll

For me it totally depends on the knife. I prefer tip up as long as the knife is both (1) small enough that I can easily access the hole in tip up configuration without "scooching up" the handle after drawing the knife, and (2) has a strong enough detent/closing bias that I don't need to w...

Kinda hard to see in pictures, but I had John at BGM thin out a Siren for me. He did real nice work and fast to boot. Bye-bye makers marks β€” it’s a slicing machine now.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives

Thanks! Yes the one in the middle is the KSF red linen micarta with the glass blast. The PJ is S45VN, the inlays are both Magnacut. I really like the glass blasted finish. I discovered that the added cost for the glass blast unfortunately nudged a large inlay Sebenza or Inkosi over the A$1000 limit,...
