Re: Hey Sal - any news on the Maxamet Military?

A future Maxamet Military will likely be an *expensive* knife...

A Maxamet PM2 is 45% more expensive than the standard PM2. If you take that same ratio, you are looking at $317 street price for a Maxamet Military...

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51148122193_9b3d1fc85e_5k.jpg Oh no I wish I was that talented. Big Chris did it a few years ago before he got super busy making his own knives. The amazing thing is I asked him to leave the bevel intact as much as he could, and I'm all but certain I got it back ...

Re: I can’t deny my knife crush on the Spydiechef.

The Spydiechef is fantastic. It displaced my previous favourite framelock EDC, the Sage 2, that says a lot. I normally prefer a negative blade angle, but quickly got used to the positive angle and unconventional blade shape. It is very practical. It would be even better if it was slightly larger. I ...

140 grit chef knives to go flattening plate. https://i.postimg.cc/rFQL31CV/IMG-20220912-182302.jpg I don't plan on flattening any stones with it. The plan is to try it as a regular sharpening stone. Wanted to compare how aggressive the edges are vs my worn 200 grit plates. I have the CKTG 140 and 4...

Caly 3 Damascus for me... I passed on a opportunity to buy one years ago and still feel the sting when I think about it. https://spydercollector.wordpress.com/2012/11/05/spyderco-caly-3-damascus-carbon-fiber-sprint-run/ Also, the Sage 4 in Ti and Ironwood: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C1...

Re: Gayle Bradley - 5 Year review

This thread needs more pictures! The Gayle Bradley was my third Spyderco, and is just over 10 years old. It has been sharpened a few times, but is honestly only barely broken in. This is the “problem” of having too many knives! I agree about the amazingly tough clip finish. I would gladly pay more m...

Re: Blurple - ing more Golden Models

I've grown very fond of my S110V UKPK. I wasn't too keen on the blue-purple of the G10 models, but I recently bought the first blurple G10, a Military, and I must say it blends quite well with blue jeans. I think S110V's fantasic corrosion resistance is a very desirable attribute for such a high-wea...

Another door hanger variation with a MOLLE panel. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F42WD26 https://i.imgur.com/PtGThhp.jpg Thanks for the idea! 👍 After I saw this, did something similar for my current rotation to free up some drawer space. The rest still sleep in the Pelican cases. https://i.postimg.cc...

Re: M4 Shaman vs Cruwear PM2 vs GB2

I have all 3 and I voted GB2. It's cutting performance is on a whole different level to the other two. The detent is light but easily fixed if you are a tinkerer. Lots of info on this forum but I just pulled mine apart and slightly enlarged the detent hole by hand with a diamond burr designed for a...

Re: Show your mods!

Thank you! Easy mod, you don't even have to remove the lanyard tube. Nice knife! But question what is so hard about reloving the lanyard tube? I have few modded pm2's with custom scales myself and have never had any problems with the tubes is this maybe a recent problem? I remember years ago when I...
