Re: Chief vs Stretch XL for fishing knife?
I feel your pain Lance... I have similar preferences. Magnacut is attractive because of its high hardness, strength and corrosion resistance. "Both" is probably the only reasonable answer. Edit to add: Ignoring the excellent ergos of the Stretch for a moment, I also love the negative blade...

Re: Delica size with fidget factor?
Try the Watu. It is discontinued but there are likely still a few lingering on shelves. Thin CPM-20CV blade, slicy like a Delica, and fidgetty with a compression lock. Taichung build quality and a deep carry wire clip. Far right: https://i.postimg.cc/zDtFWpPn/BC911AFD-2D31-40DF-93A4-84B833F70401.jpg...

Re: EDC Hygiene: Fixed Blade VS. Folder
I usually clean my blades after I used them, so they are in general clean enough to cut food when I need them to. If I notice they are not clean, I'll wipe them down before I cut food. I don't think too much about it.

Re: My First Bento Box Shop Experience
I bought my first Spyderco, the grey PM2 CTS-20CP, and first run Smurf blue PM2 M390 from them.
They stopped doing international shipping soon after that.

Re: Experienced Serrated Edge K390 users wanted.
I donโt know if it is at all helpful but I do pretty much exactly what Hans does using a conical diamond file. Where I differ slightly is that I clamp the knife blade teeth pointing out into a ball and socket bench vise (one that rotates in all directions that I use for holding chainsaws by their g...

...this painful truth of reprofiling SE is in the back of my mind trying to destroy every piece of positive attitude I thought I had... Kudos to all of you who has the courage and patience to reprofile K390 SE on the Sharpmaker. ๐ Here is a story about H1 SE, but could also apply to K390 SE with th...

Re: Tip Up vs Tip Down Poll
For me it totally depends on the knife. I prefer tip up as long as the knife is both (1) small enough that I can easily access the hole in tip up configuration without "scooching up" the handle after drawing the knife, and (2) has a strong enough detent/closing bias that I don't need to w...
