Re: What watch you're wearing?
I bought it some time ago and I'm not bored of it yet. The perfect GADA watch. “Go, Anywhere, Do Anything” https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53622345992_3c8fecc8e5_b.jpg Not sure if that's a BB36 or 41 but either way it looks good 👍 BB36 was on my short list for a steel sports watch as well but I...

Re: Is this the knife everyone clamors for?
I didn't buy a M2BL or a Shaman because of the blade thickness. I'm interested in the Bodacious because it does slim back down to .125". Also, you can dig up the old threads and there's a lot of people waiting for sprints, or just preferring the CBBL, or finding the thicker handle too blocky (w...

For me, my answer remains BBS M390/Blue (as long as the regular production K390 and CruWear keep coming!). KJ 20CV/Blue and KW 204P/Green are also good

Just for @Wartstein, the Chap is riding along with the K390 Endura today, trying to find its niche.

... However, I recently got Sage 5 and it is basically chaparral XL (or mini manix) with compression lock. As of now, it kicked both the chaparral and the native from my rotation. ... I find myself in a similar situation on the Chap. I like it but I like the Delica 4 and Sage 5 handles better in us...

Re: The Astute
The spacing of the outer two holes is close enough to Benchmade's that I'm using a two-screw Benchmade-pattern deep carry clip from MXG Gear on mine. (The middle screw position is not the same as Benchmade, so don't expect non-deep carry to work.) Thanks for the tip. This one? https://mxggear.com/c...

Re: Upping the price.
I bought a ton of Spydercos in 2022 but I noticed that I'm only carrying a good old s30v pm2. I feel like I can't use the others because I bought them so low, like a $127 Bradley 2, $156 15v Manix, or $175 pm2 Maxamet, and their prices are so high now and will continue increasing. It's like these t...

Re: The Astute
Now for "gents knife": The Astute definitely is also that, but I seem to recall that one idea behind the design was actually to make a "ladies" knife (can´t find right now where I read this). And actually the short handle should be good for those short and small ladies pant pock...

Re: The Astute
Thanks, just a simple DIY stonewash of the factory bolsters and scales. Wanted to make them a little less slick and cover up a bunch of carry wear on the bolsters.Notsurewhy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 7:04 pm
Nice Hungarian. I like the matte look. Did you acid wash the bolster? The scales look different too, or is that just the lighting?

Re: The Astute
The Astute is a fantastic design and a solid user even with its slim profile. I would like to see it with upgraded materials, maybe S35VN or M4 like the Tenacious. Also agree on more collaborations with Mr. Szakony; his design style works well with Spyderco's. https://i.imgur.com/A6ybNpX.jpg https:/...

Re: Show your Vegetable Gardens and Harvests
Someday I will try starting from seed indoors but first I have to find the time and do some research…it must be very satisfying 👏👏👏 It is somewhat satisfying but it's more that we got a light dusting of snow yesterday and our average last frost date is the first week of May. So for stuff that can't...

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters
Goal for March-April this year is to get out to the lakes and wetlands around us to see more of the waterfowl migrating through. We need to get a better long-range lens but we saw a pair of Hooded Merganser and a bunch of ring necked ducks today (plus the usual mallards and Canada geese). https://i....

Re: Show your Vegetable Gardens and Harvests
For those starting stuff indoors, what do you have and how are they looking? Broccoli, kale, cucumbers, and pumpkins already sprouted here; waiting on the peppers and tomatoes still. Plus various annual flowers in the covered tray below. Tried my best not to buy too many more seeds this year and use...

Starmate, if you want a regular production example that's not a sprint or exclusive.

Re: Upping the price.
Historically the Manix 2 has also been a poor price comparison within Spyderco's lineup. Sal's commented on here before that the base model Manix 2 was a bit of a pricing experiment, where Spyderco intentionally priced it using less than their standard margin to see how sales might be affected. I do...

Hungarian 👍 https://i.imgur.com/E3v0Jhy.jpg Man, that don't look right to me.. Mine's got polished bolsters and shiny G10.. :worried Mine used to and I wasn't a fan of how the polished bolsters picked up scratches, and then I gutted a deer with it and wasn't a fan of how slick it was. So I took the...
