Personally would prefer a thinner blade Endela rather than a larger Chaparral but would be strongly tempted by either.
I didn't care for the rest of the aesthetics of the Schempp Bowie but the 3.75" blade at 2.5mm stock thickness had me considering it repeatedly.

Re: Delica 4 in 2024?
I just want to be clear: love the delica, I bought one because I knew I really liked the design and it’s an excellent performer in its own right. Today I decided to take another close comparison to the in hand feel of my stainless steel combo edge delica, to my calypso jr lw, and g10 caly3. The del...

Re: 2024 Official Discontinued List
Lmao. The last time I posted in this thread, August 18, I had picked up a Sage 5 CF and a Chap CF and called it done. I've since added a wharnie K390 Delica and Endela and a medium grit benchstone. Liking the Endela so much I'm wondering if I need anymore K390 wharncliffes before they start getting ...

Re: Janky grind on K390 Delica Wharncliffe
For OP, to give a couple other Spyderco wharncliffe examples to compare - These are a S30V Delica, K390 Delica, K390 Endela. Photos taken with my phone, trying to keep things level and square with the internal phone level but probably still subject to fisheye and focal length issues vs the human eye...

Re: What’s your favourite exclusive for future models?
Voted Knifejoy 20CV/blue. I also like: Knifeworks 204P/Green (though they've also done lots of other materials in theirs) DLT 20CV or M390/Red or Red/Black BentoBoxShop M390 or 204P/Blue (though like others they've also had some variety) In general I like Spyderco's standard VG-10 and S30V but I do ...

Re: Favorite Spydercos You Got in 2023 - In Your Pocket in '24
This year I mostly bought discontinued models on sale after the 2023 list came out: K390 Delica wharncliffe K390 Endela wharncliffe Chaparral CF Sage 5 CF 20CV Endura (KJ exclusive) K390 Delica (ordered 12/30, delivered 1/4...does that count as 2023?) Overall the Sage 5 and the Endela wharncliffe ha...

Re: The Delica Wharncliffe is the greatest work knife ever made.
Rock Jumper is also on sale and has a quarter of an inch more cutting edge than the Delica. $58 in some places. That along with the Endela Wharncliffe going for about the same. VG-10 in PE or SE that is. One issue (for me) with the RJ/Endela wharn vs the Delica wharn is that the RJ/Endela are thick...

My mind's in the same place; just ordered a K390 Delica from National to get a little bit more of that steel in hand before prices jump. Almost added some SPY27 as well but trying to save some hobby money for the Bodacious. (the Benchmade price jump is also concerning; the last time we were in an ou...

Re: Making micarta more grippy
You can always re-sand at a lower grit than factory, but I'm uncertain how much grippier that will make it. Scouring pad seems like a good idea. I've done this to a BRK with polished canvas micarta scales before. Used something pretty low grit; I want to say 120. It basically exposed the ends of th...
