Re: Aqua Salt LC200N

How about a Jumpmaster 2 in PE LC200N? A bit bigger but not drastically so.

Re: The Stretch 2XL "Experiment"

I prefer it without liners. My first Spyderco’s were a Delica and Endura III that I abused as much as my any knife I’ve ever owned. Not batoning or prying but cutting anything I ran into at work landscaping or in construction. Heck I even cut Sod one day when I didn’t have a spade with me and was ...

Re: Where the Heck Are the Lil' Native Lightweights?

Great to hear Sal, I got to handle them last year at Blade Show and was quite taken with the little guy.

Re: Lost, misplaced, disappeared, stolen

Delica III olive drab combo edge black blade lost after going to see the Star Trek reboot at a movie theater in Bluffton, SC. It was my second Spyderco and my first Delica. I had used it hard and it really set the hook for me with Spyderco.

Re: Will cracks in Manix 2 LW scales become a problem?

That doesn’t look good. I have had and have used hard at work 7 different versions of the Manix LW starting with the original BD1 version. I’ve never had the scales crack or chip.

Manix 2 lightweight. A great balance of weight, blade length and comfortable scales for work or recreation.

Re: What was your first Spyderco

First one was an olive drab Delica combo edge in 2003. I didn’t know it was a sprint run and really liked the looks. I carried it a lot until I lost it in a movie theater around 2009. I was amazed at how long it kept cutting compared to other brands I’d had growing up.

Re: Afterall, is the hp Delica just a phantasma ?

I specifically asked about it at Blade and the gentleman I talked to said it wasn’t in the prototype case but was still in the works as far as he knew. I don’t often carry a Delica anymore but that was the gateway drug that got me into Spyderco 20 years ago and I’m intrigued.

Edit: My bad for necro. Did a search and this came up. Didn't read through posts first...

GL, with whatever you choose.

Reply: WAY to vague....

Better and depends on your budget, intended use(blade design), etc...........

Sharpening equipment and sharpening abilities, etc.........

I can ...

The scales look darker in the Knifecenter BladeShow vid.
I didn’t handle one but the scales definitely leaned more purple in the display case than burgundy. I was a little surprised after seeing them in the reveal.

Re: Blade Show 2024 - Other Stuff

There was a lot to see and some awesome craftsmanship. I picked up a Bradford Gatsby which intrigued me and while I considered his largest Magnacut fixed blade I ended up with a White River hunter as my first fixed blade in Magnacut. I like the fit and finish on both and am looking forward to trying ...

Re: Blade Show ATL 2024 June 7-9!

It was the same size as a Manix 2 but the handles were sculpted and melted into the hand. While it may not be it felt slimmed down and more refined though I wasn’t carrying one of my Manix 2’s and didn’t ask to see one for comparison either. The scales were something like the Enuff’s in contour ...

Re: Blade Show ATL 2024 June 7-9!

I took up entirely too much time at the Spyderco booth over multiple visits but the staff was always gracious and patient. I dare say it was the most consistently busy booth of the two days of show that I was there for. The Charisma prototype was very interesting as was the Manix 3 LW. I hope both ...

Re: Official Serration Pattern Thread

The Wharncliffe Byrd models are the thinnest ground sliciest models AFAIK they are the only ones ground that thin so far. The Byrd Rescues and others I’ve had were not as good, still good but not the same.

I’ve used Spyderco’s serrations since I bought my first Endura circa 2004. I was always ...

Re: Official Serration Pattern Thread

I haven't seen much discussion about the Byrd Wharncliffe models and their serrations. They are the best cutting ones I have at the moment. The Cara Cara 2 wharncliffe SE model is slicier than my Endura wharncliffe SE and every other SE Spydie I have. I assume it's because of a thinner grind and ...

Re: Please recommend 3x Endura 4s for my use

1.) 20cv Knifejoy exclusive
2.) ZDP-189
3.) VG-10 Wharncliffe. (SE is my preference but either way it’s a cutting machine.)

20cv has become my favorite all around Endura. Between corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening.

ZDP because of how well it handles abrasives, I cut rope and strap that ...

About 78 percent folder wise, with around 57 Spyderco folders. Fixed blades it’s more like 20 percent and kitchen knives it’s around 30 percent.

Re: Rip my only PM2

Check the seatbelts, back of the seats and the ledge between the seat and the door. I’ve found more than a few that I’ve “lost” this way. I “lost” an Endela tying up a tree in the field to dig. The twine just grabbed the clip and luckily I noticed and found it before it was dug and shipped out.
