Are you referring to the Kiwi or FRN Native? The Kiwi has an adjustable pivot, but isn't made of FRN, and if you're talking about the FRN Native I can assure you mine is pinned at the pivot and have many pictures proving said point...maybe they switched to an adjustable pivot in it (Mine's about 8 ...

My first Spyderco (Tragically lost on a job site), and second identical replacement were both the pinned FRN Native model...the one I still have (Second one) shrugged off a 275 foot fall onto gravel roughly 8-9 years ago (Knife was closed fortunately), and I still carry it from time to time today ...

Like many knife features, there's a trade off involved. Pins can be thinner than screws, and the smaller holes needed for them in the backspacer and lockbar allows for a more compact knife. For some models, Sal feels that is more important than creating a platform for mods. I too would prefer all ...

Well I got mine today, I quite like how it feels in my hand. My only disappointment is the pinned construction, I guess no scale mods =/

Not sure I agree on the thin stock comment? It's 3.5mm, thicker than the Chaparral (2.5mm) and similar in size. It seems about perfect to me for this design.

I ...

It would be fitting if the spydie hole was square and not round.

I've been carrying mine almost everyday since release and it's developed a noticeable scratch where the clip touches the TI. Otherwise it's perfect. The finish definitely helps hide some scratches over SS.

Wow DC, Congratulations ! ... You just took it to the next level.

In the previous thread you had both Sal and Ed offering to help you out. And what do you do? You never replied to them, then you deleted the thread, created another one, and continue to cry like a little baby in this one ...

I would absolutely purchase any red variant of the PM2. I would prefer a dark, more subdued red though.

Although, I must admit I'm somewhat bored of standard G-10 these days, regardless of the color. How about a different texture?, or an alternate material, like what's on the Gayle Bradley Air ...

My Tuff has gotten slightly easier to open, but I've adopted a specific closing technique for this knife. From a normal, right handed grip, I place the right thumb so it covers the right side of the Spydie hole, then use the right index finger to release the lock and begin closing the blade with ...

I have 2 suggestions:

For opening, use the fuller instead of the spydie hole, at least to get it started.

For closing, use your forefinger on the lock instead of your thumb - much much easier imo.

I have a pm1 and I have disassembled it twice since '06. It's really straight forward to disassemble and reassemble. It might take a couple minutes of finagling with the stop pin and pivot screws to get your blade centered again though.

The dimples ruined what was possibly my most anticipated Spyderco ever. They make an otherwise awesome knife look cheap & cheesy as ****. I'm extremely dissapointed & will not buy one unless they come out with a dimple-less version (I would prefer the original diamond design, but even plain G-10 ...
