Spyderco Ladybug saves a Mallard! :-)

So I gave my wife a purple ladybug for her keychain about a year ago, she lost it through airport security. I bought her another and I'm always asking her if she ever uses it or if it comes in handy. We'll yesterday afternoon, she took my son to a local pond so he could go fishing. She said she got ...

Don't want to break any rules, but if someone wants to email me I could help. It's a very cool knife and I was on the fence about patinas till I had one, they can be beautiful IMO.

JLS - Awesome Job. I would buy a Junior right now if they came that way. Would love to see how the spine came out, it looks really clean! Can you elaborate on how you did it?

Casey1 - I've been in the same position you were just recently...I had held a Manix at a shop several times and really liked how it felt but it was a tad bit too heavy for my personal tastes (I live in Cali and wear shorts alot), so I jumped on the Lightweight Manix when it came out. I also had read...

Those Letters correspond to month and year. So your FRN UKPK birthdate was April 2011. So you definitely received older stock from your supplier. My two that I was comparing above were April 2011 as yours and March 2012 with the new one. It's sounds now as if I was mistaken in my assessment of havin...

Man, I can't for the life of me deploy my spydies with my middle or index fingers. LOL. I see that all the time in the videos and can never do it! :-)

I've owned both and my only gripe with the Triad Lock is just how much force and how much "travel" the lock must be depressed to unlock the knife. It's never come natural to me with a Triad and very rarely is it a one handed operation. It's definitely one of the most solid and confidence i...

I can tell you my box shows a birthdate of march 2012. I would imagine this is just a running change and will take time trickle out distributors. I'd imagine with 4 FRN colors and last years rescue models. There might be a significant amount of inventory out there and saying hey there's a new versio...

I believe Sal posted on BF just a few weeks ago, and sort of personally fell on his sword for the lack of videos and support of them. He said something to the effect that he has intentions of doing and like most of us...not enough time in the day sometimes.

I'm pretty excited...I believe I got a FRN UKPK with the new forked spring today! Quick back story. I currently own a Black FRN UKPK with the CTS-BD1 Steel. I bought it about a month or two ago. Love it. Been EDC it at work for some time now. I recently sent in a knife for service to Spyderco, got f...

I felt the same as most of you and thought I would never carry/enjoy a slipjoint. On a whim though, I ordered a squeak and a FRN UKPK. I looooove the UKPK. I've got easily 30+ spydies and this is the one I've carried the most since getting it.

I would love to see a more traditional blade shape on the stretch, I am one of those ones who just couldn't never really bite on the stretch based on its current blade shape (sheepsfoot/drop point). Going off Sals criteria - My vote would be straight spine FRN handle in brown or orange. (based on th...

I like the Leaf Storm a lot, but I'm one who finds the ergos a bit difficult. I've also nicked myself more with the Leaf Storm than all my other Spydies combined. Not just from the lack of any choil, but closing it is somewhat awkward and unpredictable for me. It's a very well built, sturdy, high q...

UK Pen Knife China Fake

I have an employee of mine who is into knives and prides himself on all the china knives he picks up. Lots of Bee, Enlan, Navy stuff. He knows I'm into Spydies and he recently purchased these UKPK knives that were clearly fake. I have no idea where he got them, I'm assuming here - http://www.aliexpr...

I would agree. I have several Spyderco's from Taichung and they are definitely the best in terms of fit/finish and quality. I would not hesitate one bit on purchasing one.
