I fearlessly predict that will happen.

Me too. Around New Year's Eve, I always say next year will be better. This time, I'm pretty sure I will be right.

Frog lube would be great too. As you said, also food safe, like Ballistol.

Re: What's Cookin'?

Almost everything tears up my stomach these days, I understand. I'm thinking more work and less stress would be good, but that could be a while. I like your new-fangled shrimp cocktail idea!

Re: What's Cookin'?

Stuffed peppers, picked today in Alexander Valley. Ground beef, Italian sausage, rice, mushrooms and red onions. Cooked on the grill just because of my gender.

Slight shrimp allergy, so shouldn't, but they look great.

Re: Salt knives pivot lube ?

I have read that many people think it isn't necessary, and that the FRN is sort of "self lubricating". Still, I find them smoother with a bit of occasional oil, especially after rinsing them out. I use Ballistol. It works great, and keeps them food safe.

I haven't seen one of those sheaths, and this is only the second time I've heard of them. Where can I find some info?

Re: The Age Old Question .... E4 or D4

Age old answer...both of course. It is the right answer. Seriously though, I currently have neither. But I do have a Salt and a Pac Salt. I carry the Salt more, but if I had to have only one, it would be the Pac Salt. No help, I realize. Get both!

Re: A long-winded tale of how 2 orange-and-black Militaries came to be

Not long-winded, I enjoyed reading it, and love your Military collection. I had one long ago, and found it too big at the time. I really don't think I would feel that way anymore at all. I should definitely try again someday.

Re: The Manix 2 lw is pretty good

I liked mine in many ways, but my salient memory of it is, the more I handled it, the less I liked the handle; the "boxiness", and especially the FRCP.

Re: Question for Sal regarding the green LC200N salts

Nerdlock, opinions are definitely varied, but I don't think LC200N, or really anything else, is going to be better in serrated edge than H1. Some want the ffg though.

Anything Salt would be great, especially for kitchen work. I think it would have to be a backlock Manix though.

Re: How do you carry your knives and why?

Right front pocket, clipped, almost always. The exceptions are the Ladybug and Manbug, because they have no clips, and just ride in the pocket. Fixed blades sometimes on the belt.
