Re: Black Blade (TiCN coated) Lil' Matriarch

Don't usually post but needed to chime in. This knife would be very welcome in my collection! I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

Re: I will now EDC only SE for 6 months.

I have always wondered why, as a right handed person, the serrations seem to be ground on the wrong side of the blade. If you slice away from yourself the serrations don't lay flat on the cutting surface

The clip is certainly shorter than factory. The point where the clip presses against the handle should be that round spyder in the middle... http://www.spyderco.com/pix/products/large/C101BL2_L.jpg That doesn't necessarily mean it's fake, it could just have a Dragonfly clip on it, which is shorter ...

Just got the tenacious today, it's incredible for the price point! The g10 is actually much nicer than I thought it would be grip wise. Solid lock up. It feels great in hand and I like the "heaviness" compared to the serrated salt 1 I have been using.

I would also strongly recommend the cf chaparral. I edc mine daily! I really wish they'd come up with a cheaper one with frn or something because it is perfect for edc but I tend to worry about abusing it too much for the price.

Super easy

Very cool! How'd you do it? I just put nail polish over the area I wanted to remain shiny (edge, spyderco logo, and random dot pattern) then I suspended the blade in a cup of PCB Etchant Solution ($12) from RadioShack for 30 minutes. Then I rinsed it off and used some cotton balls and nail polish r...

Maybe they could just use the handles from a UKPK and throw a lock on it and a Caly balde?

Love the look of this knife! I have a chaparral and am really starting to dig small classy edc knives. Does anyone know if the actual liner lock is steel or titanium? Somewhere I heard the liners were titanium, so I wasn't sure if they meant both sides including the liner lock or what

I have to agree. The salt designs are perfect for what they are meant to do. The only down side is the volcano style FRN. I have used my serrated salt 1 to cut through tough materials and when pulling the knife back I can feel my grip slip because the serrations are holding on to the material so wel...

Curious as to whether or not you used the hardware from the donor knife as it is also rust resistant. The only thing I switched was the blade. I wanted to switch the lockbar too but ran into trouble trying to loosen the screw in the salt's lockbar. It seems it isn't shouldered so as I turned the sc...

I couldn't find any other pictures of anyone trying it so I had to do it. I bet the next gen salts have these handles

I think the back lock is the best lock. I have a sage 2 and its not "hard" to close, but it doesnt feel near as easy as the back lock on say my endura. I also like the fact that you can really hold the knife a lot more securely while pressing in a back lock with your thumb one handed, comp...
