Re: Show your mods!

That's pretty slick. I could swear I saw a while back someone who made a kitchen style mule where the handle was higher than the edge. I have a couple of Mules that I was going to try to do that on, but haven't really found my way to it yet. I suspect you're remembering my original project thread, ...

Re: Kitchen Mule Project

Was afraid of that. Flickr decided I might not be me, and wouldn't let me in without sending a confirmation code to an email address that no longer exists. I tried to hotlink from Google Photos and even tested it with a browser in which I wasn't logged into Google, but I guess that doesn't work. Any...

Re: Kitchen Mule Project

So, it's all done. I posted a glamour shot in the Show your Mods and Show your Mule threads. I'm pretty happy with how it came out, but there are a few issues. It's a bit clumsy at the junction between the top of the handle and the spine of the blade. This was always going to be an issue, as the bla...

Re: Show your Mule

This is not a new mule team blade. MT11(M390) with a bit of surgery. Re: Kitchen Mule Project

So, this project sat on the shelf for a long, long time. First I determined that I really didn't have the workshop or tools to modify the hardened steel in the required fashion. Then a few years back that changed when I acquired a house and put a little workshop into the basement. At that point I ch...

Re: Unabridged Unapologetic Case for the Para Military 2 Left Hand *

Just got mine. Very much like operating this lock the way it was designed to be used. I thought it might be my first Spydie that didn't need clip re-positioning, but while the clip was on the correct side it was set for tip-down carry so I had to switch it anyways. One thing I notice is that the G10...

Re: Unabridged Unapologetic Case for the Para Military 2 Left Hand *

If they make them, I will buy one. Don't care in the least what steel is used. I have a regular PM2, but between it being a smidge on the large side for my preferences and the lock being so much nicer in the right hand than the left - I mean, I can operate it left-handed, but my less-coordinated rig...

Re: Caly 3 in SE?

I used mine a bit hard (occasional cuts through copper wire, mostly), and with the thin grind meaning rather thin pointy bits (that's the technical term) managed to snap a fair number of the teeth. It was still perfectly functional, but I decided to wharncliffe it. Still gets a lot of pocket time in...

Again not quite the sort of mod you're looking at, but should count as a custom Caly I think. A Caly 3 SE with several broken serrations turned into what I like to call a WharnCaly 3 CE.

If demand at the factory-set price exceeds supply, then the secondary market will find an equilibrium price where demand doesn't exceed supply. That price will be even higher than the market price that the factory could have set, as supply to the secondary market is lower than total units sold - tho...

Obviously LNIB didn't mean he didn't use it enough for it to lose the factory edge. The key to sharpening is to keep a consistent angle. The Sharpmaker achieves this by setting the stone at 15 or 20 degrees from vertical while you hold the knife vertical. Much easier to judge vertical than to judge ...

It's a Native 5 Lightweight in K294.
