I have the boxes for all my knives in a drawer, and just adopted Arillon's method of identifying an empty/full box :)

I think it's easier to keep the box around, for storage purposes as well as having the 'complete package', if you end up selling a knife.

Looking at the list that Razorsharp posted, it seems like the UDDEHOLM VANAX is the 'better' choice imho. High corrosion resistance, even in salt water, with edge retention like Elmax, wich is a steel I've had great experience with so far. As a personal preference, I really like the D2 custom I have...

I'm also an advocate for trying out the Tenacious. I sadly had to part with mine to cover some bills :( In my opinion it's an amazing low budget folder that will stand up to just about anything you can throw at it. I would say it's one of the best budget folding knives. you could buy 3 of those for ...

As you can see on this chart, it uses pretty common flashlight batteries.

They can be replaced by unscrewing the cap at the bottom, so definitely not a 'throw away' light..

I would say FRN, having color options makes for some interesting mixing and matching of beads and handle scales
