Please notice that the posts you are referring to are not from long-time members here. This is usually a low-key forum. I'm sorry for your unintended results and your feeling unwelcome. Please hang around a while and give things a longer trail. :) That is nice of you to say. It takes more than one ...

why do some people on this forum only post to make others feel stupid? Last I checked I passed "Knife sense 101", I just didn't know much about DLC coating. NOW I KNOW!

Just spoke to Spyderco and they confirmed that metal polish will dull the DLC blade. It would have been helpful information to know this before I already applied it and dulled the color!!!

Creepo wrote:Yup, DLC isn't a shiny coating at all, kinda semi-matte.
DLC is not like those crap shiny teflon coats some use.
BTW, don't use metal polish unless you wanna strip the coating... :(
Flitz stripping the DLC coating? I've never heard of that.

Manix 2 DLC doesn't look right

I just got my Manix 2 DLC last week & love the knife but...the DLC black seems faded compared to all the advertisements of the knife I have seen (see example). In my picture I just used Flitz polish and mineral oil and that's as bright as the blade gets.

Anyone else have this issue ?

Manix 2 fixes

Does anyone have any facts that the Manix 2 has had the fixes done that Sal said would be done after the issues back in August with the failures?

VashHash------I am about to buy the Manix 2, I can't pass it up after seeing how well it held up after your abuse :) . I would really like to Rit dye the cage buttons like you did and would really appreciate you telling me how you did that without taking the knife apart. " Also I wound up dying...
