The link doesn't seem to work.

But so far it seems the black blade coating seems to be very durable and well-liked. I want one.

Black Coated Blade

I've never owned a black coated blade (from any knife brand). I was always afraid the coating would scratch easily or rub off. But now I've set my sites on the all black Manix2. I'm not sure how durable and scratch resistant the black blade coating is but I want this knife regardless. So does anyone...

Best Bang for the Buck

Let me begin by saying that I feel that Spyderco knives in general are a great value. What you get for what you pay is fantastic. Materials used , fit and finish , locking mechs and overall quality is all top notch for a more than reasonable price. Anyway , which Spydies in particular do you feel ar...

The SuperLeaf is a beast of a knife. I like it a lot. It's a solid , well-made worker that gets the job done (any job) every time. Mine feels lighter than my Manix2 , actually. VG-10 isn't my favorite blade steel but it is definitely decent. And at 4mm thick , it is nice and beefy and looks fantastic.

I highly recommend the Sage4. The Sage4 is one of the best knives I have ever owned by any manufacturer. It is small but super solid. A very beefy little knife that is extremely well-made. It is a few bucks above your budget though. But definitely worth it. The Ironwood handle and titanium bolsters ...

I think it's great that Sal communicates with us here. Like I said before : It's like talking about lightsabers and all of a sudden Yoda joins the conversation. Awesome indeed.

When I'm off the job I carry just one blade. Usually right rear or right front depending on which knife I'm carrying. I never use clips in plain clothes. When I'm on a job I have many dif uniforms with various gear but I will usually have between 3-5 blades spread out over pants pockets , belt , ves...

Where Do You Carry ?

Where exactly (on you) do you carry your Spyderco ? Pants pocket (Front pocket ? Back pocket ? Cargo pocket ?). Coat pocket (Outside pocket ? Inside pocket ? ). Shirt pocket ever ? Do you always use the clip ? Do you ever remove the clip ? Ever use a belt-mounted sheath ? This all may depend on wher...

Anyway , M4 seems like a great steel aside from it's ability to rust rather easily compared to a good stainless steel. But with all the coatings available (like Tuf-Glide) that doesn't really bother me.

In my opinion, this is the fit and finish hierarchy: Taichung Taiwan Golden Colorado Japan China That's not to say the Japanese knives are not excellent examples of a quality brand. It's just that Taichung somehow seems to pull off some incredible quality of workmanship. Again, that's only my perso...

dbcad , The thickness of the blade is what initially attracted me to the SuperLeaf. I really like a thick blade. And I think it's just a good-looking knife. I'm definitely intrigued. Also ,there is a such thing as a "private message" here on this forum , ya know. If you choose to become &q...

For what it's worth, the "other company" that does a lot of M4 blades has raised its target Rc range for M4 blades to 62-64Rc in the last year or so. I havent tried to compare their new production and I don't recall seeing any comparative tests. Oh good to know. Thanks for the heads up. I...

I have owned 2 and they have both been flawless. The opening action is light, blades centered, lock up solid. Very nice knives. They beg to be used and used hard. My brother recently used one to field dress a deer and he said it got the job done quite easily. Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. ...

I'm anxious to get my hands on the SuperLeaf. The Spydies I own from Golden have very good fit and finish. And my Sage4 from Taichung is outstanding. I'm hoping the SuperLeaf is right up there too.
