Re: What has become of Bladeforums?

I have 200 infractions and a ban in bladeforums from back in like, 2013 or something. I never ever got along with the mods. hahaha. If I recall correctly, they were bashing on a maker, and I was on the makers side.

Re: TKJ Spyderco exclusive cruwear ????

The funniest comments I hear are about what time he released it. It doesn't suit the people of America but suits the knife nuts all over the rest of the world. I love that he did that. Sure I didn't score one But I only had to get up at 6 if I wanted to try and get one, not 2am or some dumb hour lik...

Re: TKJ Spyderco exclusive cruwear ????

Makes me sad to see the way some of you kids are behaving in regards to this mishap. Such a nice guy getting his business dragged through mud because some people didn't get their precious little knife.

Re: What video games are you guys and gals playing?

Destiny 2 on PC The story and graphics of the campaign mode are amazing, but games with only one track to follow have limited appeal to me... Add to that the fact that success in PvP requires grinding for the best gear and the replay value is very limited, at least for me. Im all about that PVP hah...

Re: Mantra Detent Ball

I replace all my detents with ceramic, much prefer the action. Also if you make the hole int he blade bigger that the ball sits into, you can increase the detent, just make sure the ball doesnt already fully seat or it will rattle when closed.

Re: Free hand sharpening techniques

\ 17. Don't take my word for it. There is a lot of good sharpening advice online. There is also a lot of absolutely terrible advice that will give you dramatically worse results. Some people will suggest raising a burr on both sides when you sharpen. Some will recommend waterstones that require fre...

Re: Free hand sharpening techniques

To add with the burr thing, It really is the easiest way to know you've hit the apex. Alternating strokes takes too long so I dont do them until I am finishing on a given grit. :p

Re: Free hand sharpening techniques

I got back and forward till I raise a burr, do the same to the other side, deburr, repeat on any other stones I want- Done- Usually I go further and polish with Diamond pastes oon "delicate" painters tape.

A mod I have performed a lot of times :) I prefer to use a small cylindrical bit as you can keep the edges of the hole closer to 90 degrees :)

Re: Very Disappointed

Quality drivers are essential when you get down to the sub T8 sizes. Wiha is my top pick as they fit very snug. Cheap drivers almost always ruin the screws, especially if loctited in.

Re: Freehand sharpening: a conversion in progress?

On Aliexpress and Wish you can buy sharpening plates from 80 grit to 3000 grit for a few dollars each. I would pick up the 220, 400, 800, 1200, 2000 and 3000 grit plates and have a play with those. They leave very good edges for the money spent.
