I have a Lionsteel SR-1 Titanium, but I just can't get warmed up to it. The Lionspy however, may actually work for me. I think the problem with the SR-1 has to do with the lack of a hole.........

Hey, I'm in Japan and I need some advice

I really want to find a Japan exclusive spydie but I haven't found any knife type shops yet. I'm staying in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. I know some of the members here have been to Japan and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I'm only here for a couple of more days. The work...

I have both and would easily recommend the GB. The Sage is great but the GB is in a class of it's own.

I dunno, the Ti millie is a great knife but I find that I really prefer the millie in the standard platform. I'm sure that an integral comp lock para 2 will be a coveted knife but it might not be as preferable for me to carry often. I agree, the framelock millie just doesn't have that wicked talk w...

Is it as crummy as it looks? Every bit. I was just shocked at the blatant use of the logo. They misspelled "taiwan" as "tanwai", probably lied about the steel, but I'll be damned if they don't have the spydie logo perfect. The liner lock is about as strong as a tin can, an...

My wife gave me this.

Poor girl, she really thought she was giving me something cool. Found at a flea market/reseller type place. My son was fooled as well.

Forged

Displayed are the Starmate C55 and the new Vallotton Sub-Hilt C149GP.

My concept is "forged in steel". The anvil and hammer props these two amazing creations. Also it is a depiction of past and present collaborations with great bladesmiths, as only Spyderco does to perfection.

Why does the model number have you concerned? Though the box label says it should be serrated edge. Not quite sure what you mean by first run but the knife is from the initial release somewhere around 1996. Spyderco then released some combo edge only around 2001. Model number concern was regarding ...

I'm a fan of FOB's and would buy a few if they were reasonable. Both materials would be cool but the weight of metal gives a lanyard/FOB a better hang IMHO.

C23 Question

Hey guys, I recently aquired this very cool C23 Renegade. I was wondering if you all could help me identify if it is an original run or the second run. the box says "C23GS". It is supposed to be an original run according to the trade deal I made, but the model number has me concerned. Ther...

Intitially I was intimadated by some of the "snob" steels. I think my first SM job was a S30v Native. Very easy to sharpen. Then i found the Gayle in M4 steel. M4 hands own is the best steel I have worked with yet. It literally takes 5-10 strokes on each side and presto - wicked sharp. I t...

Jack, uber = superlative, more or less. The german term "Ubermench" is roughly equivalent to Superman though I believe uber is literally "over" in English. mwmccormick, Are you talking about the CTS-XHP Manix 2 or the CTS-B75 one? I have the CTS-XHP model and it is my favorite E...

Manix 2 Carpenter

I just acquired a Manix 2 Carpenter. First let me just say WOW :spyder: ! I think I have found the ultimate EDC. So smooth, with Emerson challenging ergo's. I just was wondering to myself, where does it rank in terms of uber-ness in the Manix 2 lineup? From reading the boards here there are many var...

Use the one you got. I used a TI Lum for several years before I knew that people think they are worth a lot. I also have a PE Native II that I uses daily for 8 plus years before I knew that they are kinda rare. Even if these knives were/are rare I have never regretted using both of them. Who cares ...
