For me, the Starmate is one of the classics; I wouldn't want to see it "reinvented" for a sprint run, so yes, same pattern and grind woluld be essential. I would prefer ZDP to VG-10. Peel ply G-10 sounds great, in the original black, or perhaps a dark earth tone. No "bright" or "light" colors ...

I have always liked the kiwi, and I have long thought that Paul's interpretation of it to be most elegant. I think that is especially true when considering a larger implementation, as this is.

I agree, great question. I too, have wondered about the difference. While I had given it some thought, I had never thought it through to any kind of conclusion until I saw this thread. Could it simply be a matter of original intention when designing the knife?

I haven't bought or felt compelled to buy a Spydie since the Manix 2 s90v and have been quite happy saving my money. Then I see the Caly 3.5 and thought, no problems, I finally "need" another spydie, first one in a while.

Then came the Super Leaf :eek: then the Sage 3 :eek: then the CFUKPK :cool ...

I think my wife knows about my collection... she found some of them. And she knows that I almost always carry 1 (that she can see :p ). However, I don't know if she knows about the rest of my collection.

I believe she knows about my EDC pile, but to here they are my knives as they all sorta look ...

We'll make it out of CPM S-unobtanium 37-V. ;)

I like the idea of full titanium and while I agree with Vivi that the liner lock on the Millie is one of the best, I really like the idea of a frame version. I think on a Ti Millie, it would be very fitting.

I almost always have a Ladybug woith me. Lately I'm been carrying the H1 variant in PE. I use it regularly and sharpen it regularly. It's much more socially friendly to use in public.

When I first head about the sprint run of a new Bob Lum Chinese Folder, I had thought (and hoped) it might be higher end and done in something other than Almite. I was thinking Carbon Fiber - or Titanium.

I agree with Paul, the Chinese Folder is an elegant knife, and though I am actually very fond ...
