I think continuing with the gold theme would complete the look.

Nice Calypso, :) I have never seen one in the flesh. I went to Spydiewiki to read up on it and it is an interesting read, plus some interesting comments from Sal.
I can't really believe this.

Dialex (a forum member here) has designed several great knives for Spyderco. The Adventura being one of my favorite and I always regretted not buying a Junior

I voted for 8/10. I was never able to close the BBL of the Dodo very well, and I have no experience with the friction folder.

I don't expect this one to be leaving the pocket for the foreseeable future. Grail acquired.

Re: Fish: What's Everyone's Favorite? Salt or Fresh Water?

I like both fresh and saltwater fish. Truly prefer saltwater but getting it fresh is a bit more difficult in my locale. Ahi Tuna, Wahoo, Mackerel, Swordfish and Yellowfin are my fish of choice.
Heading to the beach in 2 weeks, hoping to do some surf fishing and catch something tasty.

Re: Calypso sprint run - would you buy one?

I had the G-10 sprint before I was lucky enough to pick up a Micarta C54. As much as I love some great supersteel, for something like this, I would just want the handles to be contoured linerless G-10 with a nice high polish. For me, this would be of the highest priority for another sprint. Followe...

Re: Brotherly Love

Long time since I posted in this great thread that brother Reject has filled to the brim. This pair are more cousins but considering the rarity of their makeup, I call them brothers. The C54 is my latest grail find and it was worth the wait. https://66.media.tumblr.com/444a41470c0c7bc0f3859415db21f8...

Re: Frankenstein titanium UKPK?

There are makers who can custom make you a new blade in just about any blade steel you desire. And scale makers who could make Ti scales for a current UKPK blade and backspring... But either option is likely to approach the price of a used Ti original. Oh that is almost guaranteed. I think the Zwea...

My vote would be to wait for K390 but I am also perfectly happy seeing this knife in Superblue or AEB-L.

Let's dance the Calypso :) Nice! Good to see some love for the Calypso and Junior :D I'm still looking for the burgundy FRN one and the Micarta one of course. Awesome model. I would like to dance. Re: Throwback Thursday for Spyderco's

I too love the old micarta models. Carrying these beauties today for Throwback Thursday. Little brother to the C54 I love the Junior's as well! :) (Caly 3 and 3.5 get more pocket time, just wish it had the Calypso swedge...) And the ATR is a no-brainer; sadly I don't have the Ti version myself :( O...
