Re: Knife that won’t chip, won’t roll?

It's called an AXE/hatchet/tomahawk. So long as it's made of some decent steel and HT properly. OHH and don't whack it on any rocks you should be fine.

Please see OP. I really think it's(siren) worth every penny I spent. Now I just have to go on a fishing trip and use it.

Re: PRICING

Couldn't resist my urge for some RUST PROOF steel. Grabbed a siren from smks. No tax to NV, free hat and free shipping made it less painful. Ohh, and 0% interest for 6 months from paypal. Now just have to find myself a fishing kayak...

Re: Is it possible to sharpen knives by only stroping?

Aren't the bottom of coffee mugs and top of side car glass still a good touch up tool? I think I mostly just switch knives these days as I have many of them and don't want the others to get jealous. I'll probably touch them up one day soon though. Yes and no would be the answer. If strop gets it sha...

Re: Purchase limits on Sprints/Exlusives

So I saw someone mention this in the pricing thread and thought it deserved it's own discussion. Would Spyderco be willing/able to encourage/enforce purchase limits on Sprint runs and exclusives? Say 1 per household from a given retailer? I see a lot of people reselling these at a premium on eBay s...

Re: Shaman Z-Wear news?

I suppose if they could get the materials soon, then will see it soon??
Honestly I think I just wanted the cruversion mostly on the hype of how it went down.
Maybe little less hype for zwear and how it will be released gonna be interesting to see how it sells. Should be a winner

Re: PRICING

Hi Slash, Generally speaking, all Golden made knives are using USA made parts. sal That's a great marketing point, that is, all Golden Spyderco models use USA-made parts and labor. Agree completely now more than ever with everything that's happening in the world, specifically our country today. Ver...

Re: PRICING

Hi JonDoe, Welcome to our forum. About 10% of our knives are made in China, by choice. sal I prefer when at all possible to buy USA made. But, I do understand given certain designs and steels it will come from another country. Question is just out of curiosity, do all or most the Golden made knives...

Re: PRICING

I don’t care for MAP. It makes shopping for knives boring and mundane. But I’m not a vendor, so it doesn’t matter what I think. Yeah, same here. So, I've been using DLT for any and all purchases whenever possible as I don't get taxed to my state NV and they have a rewards program. Maybe the sales t...

Re: PRICING

I obviously like the knives they make. Otherwise I wouldn't own some of the most expensive ones they make, fixed(darn dao, respect) and folding(paysan). My logic with respect to pricing mostly comes down to handle materials used and complexity of designs. It's just really difficult to break down and...

PRICING

IS NOT in-line with inflation. Less the price of chicken or pork due to coronavirus issues Haven't bought a spyderco in months Sorry for rant and post, just had to let you know I understand there're many hands in the cookie jar. Well it does match my native 5. Giving the shaman another chance to put a spell on me. Pretty expensive considering simple design and materials used.

Stainless doesn't mean rustless. You could use a good oil to control it.

Re: BHQ Shaman Exclusive DLC/M4

BHQ has their marketing and exclusive niche absolutely down. I just wish that they didn't charge sales tax to my state. I think they charge all states? I buy most my blades elsewhere just to save on tax. 8% on about $3000 I've spent this year=a really nice blade. I wasn't crazy about the red one an...

Test another (decent)steel with similar(mule) geometry on the material you're using the m4 on. That would be the real test.

As I said in the other thread, what Elmax has over other steels is a cooler name. You gotta admit a Elmax just has a cool sound to it.

What ever happened to Elmax

I thought it was a premium "super steel". Too many haters like jdspydo (John Davis, yt rope cut test guy)or whatever his name is crapped on it years ago, so now it's not popular enough to use anymore? Please say it ain't so. I've recently reacquired a large lionspy and gonna see what I remember bein...
