Re: Alistair Phillips New Prototype Videos

Thanks for sharing the video series. Getting a knife model going on the CNC has taken a lot longer than I anticipated that is for sure. I have several designs that I draw up, even getting to the point where I had 3D models printed out to try them in hand. None of them made me want to replace the ori...

Oh my, Dazen..
If there ever was a slippie design that deserved a shot at production.
If that's a <3" UK legal as is, with that handle filling blade, I'm totally sold. I'm not subject to specific lock restrictions, but I'll buy 5 anyway :)
Yep sub 3" is what is planned

Re: Kapara Reassembly help (CQI version)

Looks like the smaller pin (the T one) you are talking about is possibly in upside down. The larger part of the T goes in the handle below the liner so it is held securely in place.

Re: DLT Kapara Exclusive!

I have been getting a few queries about the possibility of swapping the scales across from one of the CF scaled Kaparas to the DLT and whether my replacement backspacers will fit as well. I thought I would just give it a go and record some random thoughts along the way. There is also a little compar...

Kapara at the Sydney Knife Show

I am not sure how many saw the announcement on my Instagram last weekend at the Sydney Knife Show but I thought I would post it here too. I was fortunate enough to be able to acquire a handful of Kaparas to have on my table at the Sydney Knife Show. They must have fallen down the back of the shelves...

Re: Spyderco Kapara to Redback Mod

Thanks for posting that. Sometimes it seems a bit silly to do a video on undoing 3 screws :D but if it gives some the confidence to do a little maintenance or modifications etc on their knives then it was well worth it.

Re: Alistair Phillips Custom Kapara Backspacers

Thanks for posting that! I never know what is allowed with the forum rules and so forth. If anyone is interested this first batch is from the same sheet of G10 that the original backspacers for the Redback prototype came from. Just a bit of trivia for you all.

Re: When is knife named after it´s designer?

Sal would have to answer this one from the Spyderco side of things. That model was already known as the Redback but that is already trademarked so it couldn't be named that. Kapara worked nicely as another name for the same thing. If you google "Spyderco Kapara" it is pretty evident who th...

Re: 2018 Alistair Phillips!

Ali designed the knife for BBQ's which re very popular in Oz. sal I can definitely attest to its ability as a great steak knife for a BBQ. At one of the Australian Blade Symposiums we all got around for a BBQ meal at the end of the day. The caterers had provided plastic cutlery which was woeful for...

Re: 2018 Alistair Phillips!

If anyone is going to be at the Sydney Knife Show this weekend Down Under they could pick up one of my customs :D I have only just started making them again after a bit of a hiatus earlier in the year due to travel and renovations at home. Making them has renewed my love for this design. Glad you al...

Just preordered it. By the way, "Kapara" - is it local name of redback spider?
Awesome I hope you enjoy it. Yeah Kapara Spider is a common name for the redback
