Re: Sharpening choils - Why?

Would a sharpening choil/notch create a weak spot on chopping knives?

No, you're not. It's just that the japanese can't handle very tight tolerances... Sal explained that in a previous thread....

I thought vertical bladeplay is some kind of a negative side effect of a more sturdy back lock?

Re: Compression Lock Millie?

The Stop Lock on the Parata looks interesting and safe. If it is play free and the design stays the same(lefthanded clip incl.) the Military 2 will finally be one of the best folding knives ever.

Re: Sheeple Friendly Spyders?

If it's within legal limits and I need to use a knife I would't care about it's apperance to the people around. On the other hand I made the experience as a knifeguy, that it is easy to underestimate the situation. A co-worker once pulled a knife on me and the first thing that came to my mind was &q...

Re: Non Conventional Self Defense Items: Problems and Down Sides of them?

I used to carry a big padlock as an improvised knuckle duster but i think it is pretty much useless if you don't have a hard punch anyway.
With chains you can severely hurt yourself if you're not properly trained. I once hit myself with a nunchaku to the forehead, not even at full swing...Ouch!

Re: I had a dream

I had a dream last week in which I rode my bike through an old arabic town. It was a mystical night and the streets were dimly lit. In an alley I found a gun store and I wanted to buy a Military. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw familiar high quality knives but the store owner and I had communicat...

Thank you Sal. I thought about drilling some holes in the backspacer and put weights in.
Lanyard?
Sorry, I was thinking about my sabergrind Endura. I love lightness as long as the balance is right.

Re: FRN Police 4

You mean with one of these bead sculptures? Would be an option as well but I don't want anything dangling on my knives.

Re: Would removal of Thumb Stud help those with folder bans?

I think if you have to grip the knife at the blade to open it one handed the hole concept is ineffective because you can't attack immediately. Generally speaking, removed thumbstuds or a filled up hole should solve the problem here in germany. I recently thought about purchasing the Cold Steel Frenz...

Re: FRN Police 4

oh  I don't like a steel backspacer either. Give me a non-corrodible spacer made of FRN, Plastic or other synthetic or a flow through design for easy cleaning any day...costs down, weight down, complexity down, maintenance down, all ups for me! :p Sometimes the metal backspacer is more fo...

Is vertical bladeplay a warranty case?
Some people say it is common with back locks and seem to be okay with it.
I have two Enduras and two Calypso sprints and they are rock solid in any direction. I would be annoyed if not.

Re: New fixed blade - need help

I would love to see a return of the Temperance 1 with some changes. Bi-directional texturing, different colors and a little taper towards the blade if that is possible with FRN.

Nested liners would be great I just hope for a steel backspacer and variety of colors like on the endura and Delica.

Hallo Neomik, Balisongs, fistdagger and switchblades with blades longer than 8,5cm are forbidden, illegal. If you want to carry a onehand opening knife, a fixed one with a blade longer than 12cm or daggergrind you need a legal reason such as sport, work or traditional activities. Twohand opening kni...
