I would have to say for me the Tim Zowada CF , I'm not an owner . I know once I acquired a taste for Spyderco. They all became pleasing to the eye. Spydercos are very photogenic.

Chuck is modest but the pic of the blue stretch with water droplets and bright green leaves I will never forget.

I can see how $200 seems pretty expensive. This particular knife is very well made with the best materials, but it was hard to justify from a utility standpoint. It is probably one of my least practical knives, at least for how I tend to use mine, and usually only gets carried when accompanied by a...

It usually starts with a simple impulse based on liking a design. After that I decide if I really need it and whether it's something I'll actually use or if I'm just infatuated. Then I try to get a chance to handle it if I can before buying. Sometimes all that happens at one time at the knife shop ...

I've bought a lot of knives from my local dealer. I can no longer afford to but I will still go handle. On a few occasions I have been helpful in selling knives to other customers. How? By basically being honest and telling them what I wanted. Talking about whats new or discontinued .I've watched th...

A wise approach. Plus, the economic landscape of the U.S.A. is changing to become more hostile to small family businesses. Higher tax rates and Obamacare drive a strategy of outsourcing work to contracted facilities in other countries. Outsourced resources can be more easily grown and contracted wi...

Don't have a delica , but how I cope with being a poor person who is a knife collector. I appreciate all I have. I don't try and keep up with anyone. I consider myself lucky to own any nice knives and to have learned long ago about delayed gratification.

Charlie ,good thread. thanks .

I personally can't afford all the models I like. So the discontinued models at a discount helps a lot. Like I said in previous post. I only picked up a Breeden Rescue but would like a superleaf , zulu , chokwe. If I don't get them now I won't be searching them out later. I want to pickup a few of th...

I tell people all the time. given the same resources any man or woman of any nationality can be equally as good. If someone told me they don't like a knife based on country of origin. I would ask if they had tried all the knife makers in that country. There are plenty of lousy knife makers in every ...

I hadn't purchased a knife in 6 months but today received my Breeden Rescue. I knew I wanted one and the affordability window for me was briefly opened by the CS . Very happy. Then again I have yet to be disappointed by a Spydie purchase. I already have a couple of the other discontinued models so t...

I like serrations! I don't own any serrated folders but I am definitely open to getting one. I hope when the kitchen knives are brought to market there is a 8" bread knife with a Spyderedge. I agree that many people talk down serrations and many people puppet what they hear without any re...

Carbon fiber, G10 , wood , bone , mop , micarta paper and linen and must have FRN. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford a blue stretch , or Schempp Rock. Someday a Warrior and other stretch variations. What is pretty cool , there is something for everyone's taste. Maybe not through Spyderco but yo...

Don't own one but I like the design very much. When the current Breeden is gone it will no doubt be missed. We don't know what we had until its gone. I need one.
The captain may serve more utility than most utility knives. Depending on your environment.

In a perfect world everyone would edc a pocket knife or fixed blade. Hunting , gathering , carving , food prep .We would use them just as tools no SD, except where you may become the prey. However that is not the reality and people are either misinformed or uneducated. I agree everyone accepts the k...
