How about a simple, straight forward "Para-EDC".

Re: Local Cutlery Store..Good and Bad

I don't have a B & M knife/cutlery shop in my area. It's been at least 20 years since we've had a knife shop in this town. There are two national hunting/fishing chain stores where the vast majority of knives sold are POSs incased in blister packaging. I can't remember the last time one of these...

Re: Spyderco knife in movies

I recently watched an Australian film "The Hunter" in which The Hunter (Willem Dafoe) is carrying a folder that appears to be a Delica with a saber grind and a black pocket clip.

Just another example.

That's a beautiful little knife, looks like it would make an excellent EDC. You're truly talented.

Re: Stainless Steel Polish and metal Polishes In General?

I've used and like both Flitz and Maas (I prefer Flitz due to it's consistancy) to clean/polish various metals as well as plastics. I've had good success with both products cleaning and polishing my knife blades. Neither Flitz nor Maas contain abrasive materials - I haven't noticed any scratches on ...

Re: Does BBS give tracking numbers?

I'm not certain of the meaning of the acronym BBS, are you referring to Bento Box Shop? If this is the case, I've received all shipping info, including tracking from PayPal.

Have you checked lighthound.com. The site seems to have a fairly large supply of lanyard supplies.

Good luck!

Re: What was your first Spyderco

My first Spyderco was a Delica which I purchased in 1994. It was my EDC for about 15 years. I lost my Delica while on a camping trip to the Porcupine Mtns (South Shore of Lake Superior, Michigan's UP. The following week I assuaged my distress with a Caly3.

Re: Outdoor Delica: Saber or FFG?

I make a distinction between camping and backpacking. For the past 20 years I've carried a Delica on camping trips (the first 16 years a Saber grind and since 2010 a FFG). I haven't noticed a difference in blade function of the two knives. The Delica (either grind) is suitable for camping. Backpacki...

Re: Storage ideas for Spyderco's?

I store my modest collection of Spyderco knives in a Pelican case, albeit a considerably smaller Pelican case than the one shown above. The desiccant packets are important and can be purchased from shooters supply stores, camera shops and online (Amazon) Although I haven't sold any of my knives, I d...

In October `03 I was diagnosed with a tumor (malignant) on my right kidney. I was very fortunate because the tumor was encapsulated in the sack that holds the kidney. In my case the kidney, tumor and sack were removed before the cancer spread could spread beyond the sack (that holds the kidney). The...

The Victim

For the victim in this incident, her suffering, her pain is just beginning. The physical trauma that she has suffered as a result of this horrific assault will hopefully heal. However, it is quite likely that she will never heal from the emotional trauma that has been inflicted; so often, such angui...
